Itinerary
- Day 1
Tirana
Start at the tour office in Tirana where you'll meet your local guide. From there, you'll walk through the city exploring sites connected to Albania's communist past. The route takes you through Postblloku memorial and into the Blloku neighborhood, where communist leaders once had their homes. You'll also see Skanderbeg Square and Tirana Castle along the way. During the tour, you'll pass by the House of Leaves, which served as the secret police headquarters, and stop at the BUNKART museum. The guide will help you understand how religion was treated under communism as you visit mosques and cathedrals scattered throughout the city. It's a full morning and afternoon of walking and learning about this period of Albanian history.
