Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakech to Merzouga
You'll start by checking out the 1001 Kasbahs to see regional architecture and learn about local culture, then move through the Tinghir oasis where you can see how traditional farming works. After that, head to the Todgha Gorges for some great natural scenery. Grab lunch at a local cafe before continuing on to historic Rissani. By late afternoon you'll arrive in Merzouga, and then it's time for the main event: a camel caravan into Erg Chebbi as the sun sets. The evening wraps up at a desert camp with traditional music and dinner under the stars.

Merzouga to Fez
You're leaving Merzouga early and crossing the golden dunes heading toward the Middle Atlas. The route takes you through Errachidia, Tafilalt, and Midelt with nice views the whole way. Stop for lunch in Midelt, then continue crossing through the Middle Atlas mountains where you'll pass cedar forests and various Berber towns. You'll reach Fez in the late afternoon, and from there you can either explore the city or arrange transport back to Marrakech depending on your plans.

Merzouga to Fez
Get up early to catch the sunrise on a camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes. Head back to the lodge afterward for breakfast and to clean up. Your driver will be waiting to take you on a scenic route to Fez through the Ziz Valley and Errachidia. In Midelt you'll have time for lunch at a place of your choosing. After that it's crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains where you'll go through cedar forests and pass Berber towns, and if you're lucky you might spot some Barbary apes. You'll pull into Fez by late afternoon for drop-off at your hotel or riad.
