Itinerary
- Day 1
Portland to Rockaway Beach
You'll meet in Portland and get shuttled about 1.5 hours to Oregon's Coast Range where your cycling adventure starts. The route takes you through inland valleys following the Nehalem River and Highway 101, then you'll climb up to Neahkahnie Viewpoint before descending into Manzanita. Along the way, watch for snowy plovers if you pass through Nehalem Bay State Park. Once you reach Rockaway Beach, you can walk the open beach, explore the rocky sea stacks, or check out the Old Growth Nature Preserve where there's a 900-year-old western red cedar.

Pacific City
You'll shuttle or bike to Tillamook Creamery for a self-guided tour of the facility, then cycle through the dairy region and tackle the challenging Three Capes Scenic Byway. The route goes past Bayocean Peninsula and over Cape Meares to its lighthouse. Stop at Jacobson Salt Co. to sample locally infused salts, then have lunch at Cape Lookout State Park. After that, you'll ride through the sand dunes at Sand Lake Recreation Area. For the evening, you're staying at the Inn at Cape Kiwanda and can grab dinner at Pelican Brewery right on the beach with sunset views.

- Day 3
Pacific City
After breakfast, you'll join a 4.7-mile hike along Cape Lookout's cliffs where you can spot gray whales without needing a boat, so bring binoculars. The trail has some exposed sections near the end but the views are great. Once you're back in town, you can decide where to have lunch and dinner on your own. Other options for the day include arranging a whale-watching tour, learning about Pacific City's Dory Fleet, exploring shipwrecks in the area, trying beer flights at Pelican Brewery, walking the sand dunes at Cape Kiwanda, or taking a self-guided bike ride with a GPS route provided.

Beaver to McMinnville
You'll start in Beaver with a short shuttle from the hotel, then pedal on quiet forested Nestucca River Road as it crosses Oregon's Coast Range and drops into the Willamette Valley. During the ride you'll likely see local fishermen working for salmon or steelhead along the way. After cresting the range, you'll coast to a winery for an included tasting with valley views. From there you can either end your ride or pedal another 15 miles into McMinnville and its historic downtown. Your hotel is Douglas on Third, a restored boutique property in a historic building near the center of town.

- Day 5
McMinnville to Silverton
You'll continue cycling east across the Willamette Valley toward the Cascade foothills. Along the route you'll pass a massive 90-ton boulder that traveled here in an iceberg from over 500 miles away. Then you'll cross the Willamette River on the historic Wheatland cable ferry, which has been continuously operated since 1844 and is Oregon's oldest. Stop for lunch at Willamette Mission State Park right on the river before heading to Silverton for the night. You'll stay at either the Silverton Inn and Suites or Oregon Garden Resort.

Silver Falls State Park to Portland
After breakfast, you'll shuttle to Silver Falls State Park, which has the second highest concentration of waterfalls in Oregon. You'll hike about 2 miles through old-growth rainforest to see several waterfalls. Then for one last afternoon of cycling, you'll descend from the cascade foothills by way of one of Oregon's famous covered bridges. To wrap things up, there's a celebratory toast at the Mt. Angel Benedictine Brewery before the drive back to Portland, which takes around an hour.
