Itinerary

Casablanca
You'll arrive in Casablanca and have the day to yourself to get oriented and walk around this busy port city. Later this evening at 6pm, head to your hotel in the city center for a pre-departure meeting where you'll meet the other travelers on your tour. Dinner follows afterward, so you'll get to know everyone right away.

Rabat - Meknes
After breakfast, you're heading to Rabat for a guided tour of several key sites, including Oudaia Kasbah, Hassan Tower, the Royal Palace, and Chellah. Lunch breaks things up mid-day, and then you'll travel to Meknes. The rest of the afternoon is yours to wander around this more relaxed city and get a feel for local life.

Volubilis - Chefchaouen
This morning takes you to Volubilis to see the Roman ruins spread across Morocco's largest ancient site from around AD 40. Later you'll drive up into the Rif Mountains to reach Chefchaouen, known for its distinctive blue and white buildings. You'll spend time in the main square checking out the 18th-century Kasbah, the central mosque, and local markets.

Fes (Days 4-5)
You've got the morning and lunch to yourself in Chefchaouen before heading to Fes. This medieval city is the oldest and largest of its kind in the world, and with a local guide, you'll navigate through the crowded medina to see the history, mosques, palaces, tanneries, and dye-pits. An optional Moroccan entertainment and dinner experience is available in the evening.

Midelt
You'll cross over the Moyen Atlas mountains toward Midelt, a small town surrounded by pine forest in a beautiful alpine setting. After arriving, an afternoon hike takes you through peaceful mountain surroundings. The evening is relaxed, giving you time to settle in and maybe explore carpet shopping or plan more hiking.

Merzouga
Today's the day you head into the Sahara Desert. The drive is scenic, and there's an optional lunch with Moroccan food along the way. You'll have afternoon time to relax and swim if weather allows, then experience a camel trek out to an authentic Berber camp for the night. Dinner is local food, and you'll have time stargazing under the desert sky.

Todra Gorge
Todra Gorge is the focus today, with its dramatic 1000-foot cliffs towering around you. You'll trek through the gorge and watch how the colors shift as sunlight changes throughout the day. Rock climbing is optional if you want that kind of challenge, or you can simply relax and take in the scenery.

Ait Benhaddou
You'll pass through Ouarzazate with the chance to tour the Film Studios if interested. Then it's on to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO-listed fortified city that sits along the old caravan route. The area has beautifully preserved kasbahs near the Ouarzazate River, and you might recognize it from films like Lawrence of Arabia or Gladiator.

The UNESCO-listed medina has souks and woodcarving workshops, plus beachfront cafes where you can sit with mint tea.

You can visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the city's tallest structure, and try a traditional hammam steam bath with exfoliating massage.
