Itinerary
- Day 1
Malindi to Mombasa
Your day starts with a 7:00 AM pickup for a full exploration of Malindi's history and culture. You'll head first to the Vasco Da Gama Pillar dating back to 1498, then walk through the historic Portuguese Chapel to get a sense of the area's colonial past. After that, the Malindi Museum gives you more context on the region's background. From there you'll browse the Maasai Market where local craftspeople sell souvenirs and handmade goods, and then swing by the snake park before lunch. The afternoon takes you to the Gede Ruins for a guided tour through this 12th-century Swahili town, and you'll visit a nearby Giriama village to meet residents and learn about their traditional medicine practices. Later you'll head to Temple Point for lunch and a swim to cool off, then the drive back to Mombasa happens by 6:00 PM.
