Itinerary
- Day 1
London to Shrewsbury
Start by leaving London and heading to Stratford-upon-Avon where you'll see Shakespeare's Tudor birthplace and walk around the riverside Royal Shakespeare Company theatres. From there, you'll drive to Ironbridge to check out the world's first iron bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Later, you'll arrive in Shrewsbury for a two-night stay in this historic market town that's almost completely surrounded by the River Severn.

- Day 2
Conwy Castle - Snowdonia National Park - Shrewsbury
This morning you'll head north into Wales to explore medieval Conwy Castle, which has impressive views and well-preserved battlements. After that, you'll drive into Snowdonia National Park and cross the dramatic Pass of Llanberis where you can see Snowdon, Wales' highest peak. On the way back to Shrewsbury, you'll learn about Owain Glyndwr's history in the region.

- Day 3
Shrewsbury to York
Leave Shrewsbury and drive through the scenic Peak District countryside and villages. You'll stop in Buxton, a spa town, to try the thermal spring water that has Roman origins. Later, you'll visit Chatsworth House, the Duke of Devonshire's stately home with ornate gardens and art collections (included for April 2026 departures and later). The route takes you through England's former industrial areas before reaching York, an ancient walled city with Roman and Viking history.

- Day 4
York
You have options for the day in York. Either spend it on your own exploring the ancient walled city, visiting museums and walking the historic city walls to see the Roman, Viking and Norman heritage, or join a half-day guided trip across the Yorkshire Dales to Knaresborough, a market town surrounded by scenic villages. The evening is yours to spend freely in York.

York to London
Head back to London with two stops along the way. First, you'll visit Lincoln to see its iconic cathedral that held the record as the world's tallest building for 200 years, explore the famous Lincolnshire sausages, and walk through the historic town centre. After that, you'll stop in Cambridge to see the prestigious university and King's College Chapel. You can choose to take a punt along the college 'backs' or climb St Mary's tower for skyline views before finishing your journey back to London.
