- Day 1
Budapest
You'll arrive in Budapest and head straight to your river ship on the Danube. Get settled into your cabin, then meet your Cruise Director and the other travelers at the Welcome Reception. This gives you a chance to get oriented and start connecting with people you'll spend the week with.

Budapest
After breakfast, you disembark for a guided tour that covers Budapest's history and main sights. The guide takes you through two different Christmas markets around the city, so you'll get a real feel for the holiday atmosphere. Back on the ship by evening, there's a Gala Welcome Dinner while you cruise along the Danube, giving you nice views as the sun sets.

Vienna
The ship cruises to Vienna, and you'll walk the Ringstrasse, the grand circular boulevard that defines the city, then see St Stephen's Cathedral up close. Later you can wander through the Christmas markets scattered around Vienna with their festive decorations and holiday food. If you want something different, there's an optional Mozart and Strauss concert followed by an evening drive around the Ringstrasse lit up at night.

- Day 4
Melk
You'll celebrate Christmas Day in Dürnstein. If you're up for it, there's an optional hike up to the hilltop castle ruins where King Richard the Lionheart was held prisoner centuries ago. From there, you cruise through the scenic Wachau Valley to Melk and tour Melk Abbey, a working Benedictine monastery that's been operating since 1089. It's one of the most beautiful stops on the river.

Passau
You arrive in Passau, known as the 'Three Rivers City' because the Inn and Ilz rivers meet the Danube right there. You can choose an optional tour to Český Krumlov in the Czech Republic, head to Salzburg to see 'The Sound of Music' locations, or stay relaxed onboard. Tonight brings the Captain's Farewell Dinner and traditional Bavarian entertainment with local beer, snacks, folk music, and dancing that goes into the evening.

The ship moves to Regensburg in the Bavarian Forest region. You'll take a guided walking tour through the cobblestone streets, passing medieval buildings and historic sites as your guide explains how the city has changed over centuries. It's the kind of place where you can really feel the history in the architecture.

- Day 7
Nuremberg
You cruise to Nuremberg and have an afternoon city tour that includes the Zeppelin Field and the Palace of Justice, both significant historical locations. After the tour ends, the rest of the day is yours to walk around and explore the historic city on your own at whatever pace you prefer.

After breakfast, you disembark in Nuremberg and get transferred to Munich airport for your onward flight. This wraps up your river cruise, and you'll head home with memories of the Danube, the Christmas markets, and the historic cities along the way.
