Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakech to Boumalne Dades
You'll kick things off with breakfast at your riad in Marrakech, then head into the High Atlas Mountains, crossing elevations over 2000 meters/6500 feet. The drive takes you through some really scenic terrain before stopping at Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site where you'll have lunch. After that, you'll pass through Ouarzazate (Morocco's main film production hub) and continue on to Boumalne Dades. The landscape here is pretty distinctive with the 'Monkey Toes' rock formations visible from the road. You'll settle in for dinner and your first night at your accommodation.

Boumalne Dades to Merzouga
Following breakfast, you're heading south through palm-filled oases with fig and almond trees lining the route. You'll come across ancient khettaras, underground irrigation systems that still operate today. By early evening you'll reach Merzouga Desert where a private camel ride takes you out to your camp for sunset. Your driver handles the luggage transport while you ride out. Once at camp, there's dinner and a chance to do some stargazing before turning in.

Merzouga to Agdz
This morning starts with a desert sunrise, followed by an open-air breakfast. You can choose whether you'll head back by camel or take a vehicle. Then you're heading toward the Draa River, which serves as a vital water source for the Sahara region. You'll stop for lunch at the historic Kasbah Oulad Othman. By evening you reach the edge of Morocco's largest palm oasis where there are nice panoramic views, then continue to your riad for dinner.

Agdz to Marrakech
Starting with breakfast on the terrace, you'll drive back through the Anti-Atlas mountains where volcanic rock formations create a striking landscape. A stop at Atlas Studios in Ouarzazate shows where major films including Game of Thrones and Gladiator were filmed. From there you'll drive back through the High Atlas and either return to your riad or head toward the airport depending on your schedule.
