Leh
You'll land at Leh Airport where someone from Alkof Holidays meets you for the drive to your hotel. After settling in, the afternoon is yours to adjust to the altitude. Later, as evening approaches, head over to check out Leh Palace and the Shanti Stupa, then wander around the local market before grabbing dinner.

- Day 2
Leh
Starting after breakfast, you'll drive towards Sangam to see where the Indus and Zanskar rivers meet. On the way, stop at Magnetic Hill to see the optical illusion where vehicles seem to go uphill. The historic Gurudwara Paththar Sahib from the 16th century comes next, followed by Sangam itself. On the way back, visit the Ladakh Hall of Fame museum dedicated to soldiers and the Kargil War.

Leh to Nubra Valley
This morning you're tackling Khardung La at 18,380 feet, one of the highest motorable passes around. The drive takes you into Nubra Valley, known as Ladakh's orchard region. Once there, explore the Hunder Sand Dunes and ride a Bactrian camel across the landscape. Check into your camp or hotel by evening and settle in for the night.

- Day 4
Nubra Valley to Turtuk
After breakfast you'll head to the remote village of Turtuk, where the Balti people live at the edge where the Himalayas and Karakoram ranges meet. Spend time walking through the village, trying local food, and learning about the area's history and culture. You might see traditional sword dances if you're lucky. Return to Nubra Valley as evening sets in.

Nubra Valley to Pangong Tso
Following breakfast, drive to Diskit Monastery sitting high on a hill with views across Nubra Valley. Walk through its old chambers and learn about Buddhist traditions. Then start heading towards Pangong Tso, stopping at the Shyok River along the way. You'll reach Pangong Lake with its turquoise waters by afternoon and stay in a camp near the shore.

- Day 6
Pangong Tso to Leh
After breakfast with Pangong Lake views, begin driving back towards Leh. Stop at Hemis Monastery, one of the biggest religious structures in Ladakh, to explore ancient rooms and painted walls. Next is Thiksey Monastery built into a cliff with a tall Buddha statue. Then visit Shey Palace, an old royal residence. You'll reach Leh by evening.

Leh to Yangthang
Today switches to hiking instead of driving. After breakfast, travel 1.5 hours to Likir where the trek starts. The trail climbs towards Phobe La pass at 3,580 meters running alongside a road, then drops through a gorge with Sumdo village below. Continue up to Chagatse La at 3,630 meters, cross a wooden stream bridge, and reach Yangthang village. Sleep at camp in the mountains.

Yangthang to Hemis Shukpachen
Today's hike is shorter, giving you more time to take in the surroundings. You'll trek across Tsermangchan La pass at 3,720 meters with great views of peaks and valleys around you. Reach Hemis Shukpachen, a village where juniper trees hold cultural importance for locals. Walk through traditional houses, talk with people living there, and have a meal with fresh local ingredients before sleeping under the stars.

Hemis Shukpachen to Tingmosgang
The challenging part today is Meptak La pass at 3,980 meters, but the views of the Himalayas are worth it. Arrive at Ang village and interact with the friendly people there. Continue with a short walk to Tingmosgang, a bigger village where you can experience how Ladakhi villages function on a larger scale. Try regional food and settle in for the night.

Tingmosgang to Leh
Start with a relatively easy trek to Tia village, crossing a bridge heading south. Go over Bongbong La pass at 3,600 meters and enter Moonland, where barren slopes look like the moon's surface. After photos, it's just a 30-minute walk to the road. Then drive to the 11th-century Lamayuru Monastery sitting dramatically on a mountainside. Return to Leh in the evening after your final hiking day.
