You'll touch down in Kenya and meet your local leader who drives you to your Nairobi hotel. After you freshen up, the choice is yours - if you're feeling energetic, head to the Nairobi National Museum to see contemporary art and exhibits covering culture, nature, and history. If you'd rather take it easy, grab a drink on the hotel's rooftop pool and relax with city views.

Nairobi
Start at the Giraffe Centre where you'll walk along a high walkway and get close to endangered Rothschild's giraffes. From there, it's lunch time at the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden, eating outside in a charming setting. In the afternoon, check out the Ocean Sole factory to watch local artisans turn salvaged flip-flops into animal sculptures.

Nairobi to Maasai Mara National Reserve
Your driver takes you west along the Great Rift Valley heading toward Maasai Mara National Reserve. This massive reserve is where you'll find the Great Migration herds (typically June through October), plus the Big Five and over 95 mammal species and 500 bird species. Cheetahs, giraffes, hippos, zebras, hyenas, caracals, servals, warthogs, wildebeests, crocodiles, and various gazelles all call this place home.

Maasai Mara National Reserve
Today's game drives put you right in the middle of the Great Wildlife Migration, the largest land migration on earth. Around two million hoofed animals, mostly wildebeests and zebras, are moving across the landscape searching for water and fresh grass. You'll watch as they cross rivers where crocodiles are waiting for their next meal.

Landmarks Maasai Mara National Reserve - Day 5
Maasai Mara National Reserve
This morning you have the option to take a hot air balloon flight, which means heading out before dawn so you're in the air for sunrise and get an aerial look at the migration herds. Back on the ground in the afternoon, more game drives are on the schedule. The longer you're out there watching, the better your chances of spotting animals that have been keeping their distance.

In the afternoon, head out on another game drive to track down any wildlife you might have missed earlier in your stay.
