This is your arrival day in Lech am Arlberg. You'll check into your hotel and get settled for the week. Take some time to walk around town, grab a meal, and get your bearings before the hiking starts tomorrow.

Formarinsee Lake Hike
A hiking bus takes you up to Formarinsee lake at 1,793 meters/5,882 feet where the Lechweg trail begins. You'll see the sparkling mountain lake before heading back down to Lech am Arlberg on the Lechuferweg trail through the mountains. This walk covers about 14 km and takes around 4.5 hours, so you'll have time to rest afterward.

Landmarks Formarinsee - Day 3
Lech Gorge to Gehren
Today you'll hike through farmland and lush meadows with views down into the wild Lech Gorge. The trail climbs gently through high-altitude forest to reach Warth, a Walser village with a natural bathing lake. From there you'll continue to Gehren and then onto Tyrolean soil with nice views of the Lechtal valley. The route is about 14 km and takes 5.5 hours.

- Day 4
Holzgau to Elmen
You'll take a leisurely walk along the Jochweg trail and Lech banks to Holzgau, known for its brightly painted traditional houses. One of the highlights here is crossing one of Europe's longest pedestrian suspension bridges. After that, you'll walk over flowering meadows and forest paths to Elbigenalp, the valley's geographical center and home to traditional woodcarving. A bus transfer takes you to Elmen by evening. This day covers about 18 km in roughly 5 hours.

Häselgehr to Stanzach
A bus transfer gets you to Häselgehr first, where you'll visit the parish church with its impressive interior. From there you'll head to the Doser waterfall, which is surrounded by local legends and stories. A high-level trail then leads you to Stanzach with fantastic views of the wild river. This walk is about 13 km and takes around 4 hours.

Lech River to Füssen
This day shows the Lech's wilder side. You'll hike through rugged river landscape past Lechzopf to Forchach, then cross another suspension bridge and continue through the Moosberg nature reserve to Weissenbach. After crossing the Rotlech, gentle riverside paths take you to the quiet village of Höfen. A bus transfer brings you to Füssen by evening. The route is about 19 km and takes 5 hours.

Royal Castles and Alpsee Lake
Today brings you to the famous royal castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau. You'll see the Byzantine throne room, romantic grotto, and medieval singers' hall inside. Afterward you'll walk around the deep blue Alpsee lake through woods and forest paths with great views of both the lake and castles. This shorter walk is about 5 km and takes roughly 2 hours.
