Itinerary
- Day 1
Tarangire National Park
Your driver picks you up after breakfast and takes you into Tarangire National Park for a full day of game driving. The park's got vast landscapes with acacia woodlands and those massive baobab trees scattered around, and you'll be looking for elephant herds, buffaloes, zebras, and lions throughout the day. There are over 400 bird species in the park too, so if you're into birdwatching, you'll have plenty to see. You'll have lunch at a picnic site partway through, then continue driving until evening.

Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast you leave Tarangire behind and head toward the Serengeti, traveling through the highlands of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The road takes you down into the Serengeti's open plains, and you'll reach the Seronera area where the Seronera River brings in lots of wildlife. After grabbing lunch, you get an afternoon game drive to spot representative Serengeti animals before settling in for the night.

- Day 3
Serengeti National Park
This entire day is set aside for game driving in the Serengeti, and where you go depends on where the migrating herds are at that time. Your guide knows the best locations to find wildebeests, zebras, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and the Big Five. Herd locations shift seasonally, so from November through December they're in the south, April to June brings them back to central Serengeti, and July through October they move north. You'll cover a lot of ground following the wildlife.

Serengeti to Ngorongoro
The morning starts with a game drive that continues until lunchtime, then after eating you travel about 147 km (91 miles) to Ngorongoro for the night. The drive takes roughly 2 hours of actual travel time, and along the way you'll learn about Maasai traditional life and culture from people living in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This gives you a sense of how local communities live in this region.

- Day 5
Ngorongoro Crater
Starting early after breakfast, you descend over 600 meters down into Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day safari. The crater has water year-round and vegetation that supports massive herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, and giant African elephants, plus you'll find dense populations of lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and leopards. Lake Magadi sits in the southwestern corner and is shallow and alkaline, home to flamingos and hippos. After some exploring, you'll have lunch at a picnic site in the crater.
