He failed to keep track of the group resulting in a number of issues where people got lost and the rest of the group wasted time in waiting and looking for them. In past tours one of the benefits is that the guides give local insight but unfortuantely that was not the case here. We don't have private transfers available. But the first night hotel is just one station away by train from the airport and we send you detailed instructions prior to the departure date. And there are usual shuttle to the airport from the last hotel.

Not really. The guests need to get from the airport to the hotel on the first day. But the tour guide and tour bus will pick them up throughout the tour from Day 2 until the last day when they get to the airport on their own.

Yes the Stunning Japan itinerary is better. The highlight of Shirakawago on the itinerary is an UNESCO world heritage site and very famous in Japan. And Nagoya and the Toyota museum isn't that appealing in the original Splendid Japan itinerary.
