    You'll get picked up from the airport and driven to your hotel in Santo Domingo. It's a chance to settle in and get oriented before things really kick off with the family adventure.

    Santo Domingo

    Take a bike tour through Santo Domingo's colonial zone, which is the oldest city in the new world. Stop by Parque Colon to feed pigeons, then head to the Chocolate Museum where you and the kids can learn about cocoa and make your own chocolate together.

There's a stop at a waterfall for the family to swim and cool off, then spend the rest of the day relaxing at the hotel pool or wandering around the green areas by the river.

    Jarabacoa

    Go on an organic farm tour to see how local Dominican agriculture works and sample fresh fruits, vegetables, and superfoods right off the trees. Then head to the Yasica River for a tubing tour where you float downstream and can climb jungle cliffs or jump from trees into the water. Lunch is fresh organic food before heading back to the hotel.

Continue along Boulevard del Atlantico with great views of the tropical coast, then reach the beach town of Las Terrenas by afternoon for a cool tropical drink by the pool or beach.

    I saw the highlights of northern Chile and Patagonia in a short space of time. I knew there would be a lot of walking and driving, but it made me very tired to change places almost every day by plane or bus. However, I would book the trip again because everything was very well organized and the most important and beautiful highlights were included.
