Itinerary
- Day 1
Terelj National Park
Head to Terelj National Park early in the day to take in the landscape with its wildflower fields and rock formations rising up from the ground. You'll stop at Turtle Rock first, which gives you a good spot for photos and some shade before the hike. After that, you make your way to Ariyabal Meditation Temple, climbing through the terrain to reach it. The riverbanks in this area are quiet and peaceful, so there's time to catch your breath between activities.

- Day 2
Kharkhorin
Head out to Kharkhorin in the Orkhon Valley, which was the ancient capital established by Chinggis Khaan back in 1206. Walking through the site, you'll see the remains of what was once the center of the Mongolian Empire, with historic walls and palace structures still visible. The scale of what used to be here becomes clear as you move around the old city, getting a sense of its former importance and power during that era.

- Day 3
Tsenkher Hot Spring
Spend your time at Tsenkher hot spring in the Hangai Mountain region, one of Mongolia's well-known geothermal water sources. The area sits among extinct volcanoes, and you can soak in the therapeutic waters that many visitors come here to experience. It's a good opportunity to relax and take in the natural setting around the springs before heading back.

Return to Ulaanbaatar
Get on the road early in the morning for the drive back to Ulaanbaatar, which takes about 5 to 7 hours by 4WD depending on road conditions. You'll arrive in the city during the late afternoon or early evening, giving you time to settle in at your hotel after the long day of travel.

Ulaanbaatar
Start at Sukhbaatar Square to see the statue of the revolutionary hero and Parliament House, then walk over to Gandan Monastery to check out the impressive 25-meter tall Migjid Janraisig Buddha statue there. After grabbing traditional Mongolian lunch, head up to Zaisan Memorial for views across the city from up high. If you have time left, the Bogd Khan Palace Museum is worth a quick visit before heading back to your hotel.
