Itinerary
- Day 1
Portland to Mt. Hood
You'll meet up in Portland and take a shuttle to Troutdale to kick off your bike adventure. The ride takes you along the Wild and Scenic Sandy River through some of Oregon's oldest forests in Oxbow Regional Park. After that, you shuttle up to Timberline Lodge at 6,000 feet on Mt. Hood's flanks for the night. If you want an extra challenge, there's an optional paved ski trail ride you can do instead of taking the shuttle.

- Day 2
Mt. Hood to Hood River
Today you ride down the wooded slopes of Mt. Hood National Forest into rolling wheat country, following the old Oregon Trail beside winding streams through remote canyons. You'll reach The Dalles on the Columbia River for lunch, then head to Hood River, which Outside magazine named one of America's Best Towns and it's known as the windsurfing capital of the US. From there, you can explore shops, galleries, and breweries before heading to the BW Hood River Inn right on the riverbank with private beach access.

- Day 3
Hood River
This morning starts with a whitewater rafting trip down the glacier-fed White Salmon River, which cuts through a narrow rocky gorge with 100-foot cliffs. The outfitter provides equipment and no experience is required. In the afternoon, you'll choose between checking out more of Hood River's shops and galleries, or cycling the scenic Fruit Loop through orchards and vineyards with views of Mt. Adams and Mt. Hood. You'll spend another night at Hood River Inn.

- Day 4
Columbia River Gorge to Skamania
You'll bicycle the Mark Hatfield Trail, a scenic paved multi-use path high on cliffs overlooking the Columbia River east of Hood River. This abandoned Depression-era road was recently reopened and it features intricate stonework guardrails. Stop for lunch at Columbia Gorge Discovery Center, then explore the museum and attend the Raptor Program to learn about local birds of prey. Later you shuttle to Skamania Lodge, a luxury resort with dining, spa, zipline, and an adjacent golf course.

Skamania Lodge
You cross back into Oregon over the Bridge of the Gods, a steel span connecting Washington and Oregon that Pacific Crest Trail thru-hikers use. From there, you ride past tumbling waterfalls on paved multi-use paths and the scenic Gorge Highway. Have lunch and chat with thru-hikers at Thunder Island Brewing. Since you're staying another night at Skamania Lodge, you can take the day off the bike and enjoy the resort's spa, zipline, or golf course instead if you want.

Columbia Gorge to Portland
Today you ride along Waterfall Alley, a section of the Columbia Gorge famous for its cascades. You'll visit the iconic Multnomah Falls at 620 feet, the tallest and most famous waterfall in the Columbia Gorge. Continue passing more waterfalls on your way to Vista House, a spectacular viewpoint where you can see back over almost your entire week's journey. After lunch, you head back to Portland.
