Flight to Kuala Lumpur
Your flight departs Frankfurt heading to Kuala Lumpur. You'll arrive the next day, so settle in and get ready for what's ahead.

Kuala Lumpur
After checking into your hotel and resting up from the flight, head out into the night market for street food. Try nasi lemak, satay skewers, and roti canai from local vendors selling traditional dishes.

Kuala Lumpur
Start at Jamek Mosque, then walk through Central Market and check out Sin Sze Si Ya and Sri Maha Mariamman temples. Make your way through Little India and Chinatown, finishing with Batu Caves where 272 colorful steps lead to a Hindu temple at the top.

Kuala Lumpur to Taman Negara
Drive to Taman Negara, one of the world's oldest rainforests at over 130 million years old. The last part of the journey happens by boat. After you settle at your lodge, head out on a night safari looking for elephants, buffalo, tapirs, and over 600 bird species.

Taman Negara National Park
Hike through tropical rainforest spotting plants, insects and animals, then head up to Teresik Mountain for views across the landscape. Cross suspension bridges including a 530-meter span hanging 40 meters above ground. Later, take a boat tour to see Lata Berkoh cascades up close.

Taman Negara to Cameron Highlands
Leave Taman Negara and drive to Cameron Highlands with its famous tea plantations from colonial times. Hike through moss-covered forest looking for pitcher plants, orchids, ferns, and possibly the Rafflesia flower. The cloud forest sits over 2000 meters up and creates its own special environment.

Cameron Highlands to Penang

Drive to Penang airport for a domestic flight to Kuching on Borneo. After arriving and transferring to your hotel, the rest of your day is free. If you want, take an evening walk along the Sarawak River to catch the sunset.

Kuching
Drive to Semenggoh to see orangutans, hornbills, porcupines and monkeys in their natural setting. Watch orangutans move through the trees and learn about their habits. On the way back to Kuching, walk along the Sarawak River and visit Tua Pek Kong Temple and Fort Margherita.

Browse a local market for vegetables, fish, meat and spices. Cook a traditional Malaysian dish with a professional chef learning regional techniques and spice use, then eat what you prepared. In the afternoon, take a boat on the Santubong River spotting proboscis monkeys, crocodiles and Irrawaddy dolphins. By evening, watch fireflies light up the mangrove forests.

Bako National Park
