Georgetown
You'll arrive in Georgetown and get transferred to your hotel. If there's time before checking in, you can take a city tour to get your bearings for the week ahead.

Kaieteur Falls
Board a 12-seater aircraft early and fly out to Kaieteur Falls, where you'll spend about 2 hours exploring from different angles. The waterfall's really something to see from the ground level. After that, it's back to Georgetown for the evening.

Georgetown to Rupununi - Iwokrama River Lodge
Morning flight takes you over the rainforest to Rupununi, then a 4WD jeep brings you to Iwokrama Rainforest Lodge. In the afternoon, you'll walk rainforest trails with a ranger guide. Later that evening, head out on a night boat trip looking for Black Caiman and other wildlife that comes out after dark.

Iwokrama River Lodge
Start before dawn with a boat trip on the Essequibo River listening to the morning chorus before breakfast. From there, take a short boat ride to Turtle Mountain and climb to the 290-metre summit (about 2 hours round trip) for views across the region. After lunch, visit the petroglyphs at Kurupukari Falls. Then join another night boat to search for tree boas and tree frogs.

Iwokrama - Atta Rainforest Lodge
Early transfer through the rainforest with stops to look for birds in mori scrub forest. You'll spend time on the Iwokrama Canopy Walkway spotting canopy birds and monkeys from above. Later, explore trails around the lodge where deer and agouti often show up. By evening, watch for the white-winged potoo from the walkway after dark.

Atta Rainforest Lodge
Spend the day birding around the lodge forest and working the canopy walkway to observe from above the forest floor. You'll look for parakeets, parrots, woodpeckers, antwrens and other species. The lodge clearing is particularly good for spotting the crimson fruitcrow, and there's a black curassow family that regularly passes through the area.

Landmarks/POIs Atta Rainforest Lodge Canopy Walkway - Day 7
Atta Rainforest Lodge to Surama Eco-lodge
Hear the dawn chorus from the canopy walkway, then drive into the forest searching for Guianan cock-of-the-rock while learning about jungle plants. Later, travel to Surama village on the savannah and visit the school, medical centre, church and houses. Take a guided forest walk to learn about medicinal plants, then go on a night walk to experience the forest after sunset.

Surama Eco-lodge
Get up before dawn to walk across the savannah and climb Surama Mountain while it's still cool. Breakfast happens at a lookout with views toward the Pakaraima Mountains. Back at the village, you'll take a five-kilometre afternoon walk across savannah and through rainforest to the Burro Burro River. Paddle canoes to see giant river otters, tapir and spider monkeys, returning for sunset.

Surama to Rupununi River - Karanambu Lodge
Begin with a forest walk at dawn, then have breakfast before a 4WD transfer to the Rupununi River. Board a boat heading to Karanambu Lodge. Late afternoon brings a boat trip searching for Giant River Otters. At dusk, go to the ponds to see the giant Amazonia Regis water lily in bloom. On the return, use a spotlight to search for Black Caiman and nocturnal animals.

Karanambu Lodge
Morning birding walk along the Panorama Trail in the Pakaraima Mountains, watching for poison dart frogs. After breakfast, drive to the Rupununi River banks and board a boat to search for Giant River Otters and see giant Victoria regia waterlilies at dusk. Use a spotlight on the way back to find nocturnal wildlife.

Rupununi River to Yupukari - Caiman House
Take a boat with birdwatching to Yupukari village and Caiman House. Later tonight, participate in a Black Caiman field study on the Rupununi River. If water levels are right, you'll accompany the indigenous crew on a Black Caiman search and capture experience.

Caiman House
Morning search on the savannah for giant anteater. After breakfast, transfer by boat to Caiman House Field Station while watching for Giant River Otters, Black Caiman and arapaima. Birdwatching continues throughout the boat journey.

Lethem to Georgetown
After breakfast, transfer to Lethem and catch a scheduled flight back to Georgetown, flying over hundreds of miles of rainforest and crossing the Demerara and Essequibo Rivers. Once you arrive in Georgetown, you'll have an afternoon tour of the city.
