    Frankfurt to Hanoi

    Your journey starts with a scheduled flight from Frankfurt to Hanoi on Vietnam Airlines or another carrier. It's a long haul, so you'll want to get comfortable and settle in for the flight ahead.

    Hanoi

    Once you land in Hanoi, your local guide meets you at the airport for the transfer to your hotel. After checking in and grabbing lunch, the afternoon kicks off with a half-day city tour. You'll see the Temple of Literature, then head to Hoan Kiem Lake where the Jade Mountain Temple sits on a small island. From there, wander through the Old Quarter with its narrow streets and local shops before heading back to rest.

    Hanoi to Halong Bay

    Early start after breakfast for the drive to Halong Bay, which has around 2000 limestone islands scattered across the water. By noon you'll board a luxury junk boat and have lunch while cruising. Climb up to Titov Island's summit for views across the bay, then relax on the beach and swim. Evening brings a carving lesson for fruit and vegetables, followed by dinner, board games, and cocktails. Squid fishing is available if you want to try it, and you'll sleep on the boat.

    After a morning cruise through Halong Bay, you disembark and head back toward Hanoi. From there, transfer to the airport for your flight to Danang. Once you arrive, it's a short transfer to your hotel in Danang where you'll settle in for the evening.

    Danang to Hoi An

    Today takes you to Hoi An, an old trading town that's a UNESCO World Heritage site. Check out the Museum of Culture and History, then walk the main street lined with shops and temples. The Fujian Chinese Community Assembly Hall gives insight into the town's history, and the Japanese Bridge from the early 1600s is worth seeing up close. Tour one of the historic houses protected by UNESCO. The afternoon is yours to explore at your own pace or rest at the hotel.

    Hoi An to Hue

    Drive to Hue along Highway 1, taking the scenic Hai Van Pass which locals call Cloud Pass. The route offers mountain and sea views as you head south. In Hue, visit the citadel and royal palace built between 1802 and 1833 when the Nguyen dynasty ruled from here until 1945. Enter through the noon gate and explore the Hall of Supreme Harmony and the royal chambers inside.

    Hue

Board a traditional boat on the Perfume River to reach Thien Mu Pagoda, which has an iconic seven-storey octagonal tower. Monks still live in the temple grounds. Continue to King Tu Duc's mausoleum, built during his reign from 1847 to 1883, with pavilions and a peaceful lake on the grounds.

Visit the War Museum, Reunification Palace, and Notre Dame Cathedral. The historic post office is nearby, and you'll see the Opera House and City Hall from outside. Finish at Ben Thanh Market and Dong Khoi Street to experience daily life and local energy.

The return trip to Saigon goes through Vinh Long, giving you different perspectives of the delta landscape and water villages.
