Arrival in Tirana
You'll land at the airport and take public transport into the city. Once you arrive at your hotel in Tirana, check in and get settled for your first two nights here.

Tirana
You'll meet your tour guide first thing in the morning for an extensive walk through Tirana. The guide will take you to the capital's key spots and fill you in on Albania's complex history and the different cultures that shape the city. After the guided portion wraps up, you'll have the rest of the day to wander around on your own and check out whatever interests you.

Landmarks Tirana - Day 3
Ohrid
This morning you'll drive along the historic Via Egnatia Roman road toward Elbasan for a quick look around, then head on to Ohrid. Your local guide takes you out on Lake Ohrid by boat, and after that you'll walk through the old town to see King Samuel's fortress and visit one of the city's 365 churches.

Korca
Start early at the 9th century Sveti Naum monastery, then you'll hop in a rowing boat for a relaxing tour across Lake Ohrid. In the afternoon, you'll drive back into Albania and head to Korca for the night.

Gjirokaster
Spend the morning checking out Korca before driving to Gjirokaster, a UNESCO site known as the 'city of stones'. You'll visit the castle and weapons museum, wander the narrow medieval streets, and sit down with a local family for a traditional coffee ceremony.

Saranda
Head out to the Blue Eye mountain lake and see those brilliant blue waters for yourself. From there you'll go to Butrint to walk through UNESCO World Heritage excavations with ancient colorful mosaics. You'll stop at Ksmail beach for a break, then continue on to Saranda.

Vlora
Drive through Llogara National Park with a photo stop at Porto Palermo to see Ali Pasha's triangular fort. After that you'll have free time on Himara's beach promenade, then you'll travel along the scenic Albanian Riviera coast road into Vlora.

Berat - Tirana
Visit the ancient archaeological site of Apollonia, which the Greeks built over 2,500 years ago. You'll then move on to Berat, a UNESCO site called the 'city of a thousand windows', and explore its historic districts. Try the yoghurt with local honey and walnuts before driving back to Tirana for two nights.

Durres - Kruja
Start by heading to Durres and see the impressive 2nd century BC amphitheater right in the port city. From there you'll travel inland to Kruja to walk through the fortress where the national hero Skanderbeg made his stand, then spend time in the old town's bazaar with its traditional eastern-style layout. The market itself is pretty lively with traders and visitors making deals and browsing goods. Later in the afternoon you'll head back to Durres for some free time to relax. The day wraps up with a farewell dinner at a traditional restaurant where you can reflect on everything you've seen.
