  1. Day 1

    Oslo

    Your Arctic expedition starts in Oslo, Norway's capital sitting along the fjords. If you arrive early before heading to Svalbard, there's time to walk through the city center and check out museums, galleries, and the iconic Opera House. You could also head to Ekebergparken Sculpture Park if you want to see some modern art or spend time at the urban beach.

    Longyearbyen

    After breakfast, you'll get to know Longyearbyen, the world's northernmost town, where the colorful buildings and Svalbard reindeer give it a real frontier feel. The North Pole Expedition Museum is on the agenda, and then you'll join an included excursion before boarding your ship later in the day.

    Northwest Spitsbergen National Park

    Over the next three days, you're in Northwest Spitsbergen National Park surrounded by steep mountains, glaciers, and islands. You'll look for Arctic wildlife like whales, seals, walruses, reindeer, and possibly polar bears. Activities include kayaking or RIB excursions, hiking, and beach clean-up work.

    Cruising Arctic Waters

    This is a restorative day at sea as you cruise through Arctic waters. Relax on board, take in the views from the Explorer Lounge and Bar, or soak in the hot tub on deck while watching for seabirds. The Expedition Team offers interesting lectures throughout the day.

    Jan Mayen Island

    You'll visit Jan Mayen, one of Earth's most remote locations with no permanent residents. The landscape is covered in moss and lichen, dominated by Beerenberg, the world's northernmost active volcano. Look for large numbers of northern fulmars, Brünnich's guillemots, and little auks, plus whales and seals in the waters.

    Another day at sea heading toward Scoresby Sund in eastern Greenland. Stop by the Science Center to learn from the Expedition Team about what's coming next, organize your photos, and pick up some photography tips from the onboard photographer.

  7. Days 10 - 12

    Scoresby Sund

    You'll explore Scoresby Sund, the world's largest fjord system, with white and blue icebergs, clear waters, and tall mountains. Look for musk oxen, Arctic foxes, mountain hares, whales, and seals. There are multiple shore landings, nature walks, kayaking, and birdwatching to fit in.

  9. Day 14

    Stykkishólmur and Snæfellsnes Peninsula

    You'll reach Stykkishólmur, a charming fishing town with colorful houses in Breiðafjörður Bay. From there, explore Snæfellsnes Peninsula National Park, called 'Little Iceland' because it has so many different volcanic landscapes, including the ice-capped Snæfellsjökull volcano, black-sand beach at Djúpalónssandur, and Lóndrangar basalt cliffs.

    Your Arctic expedition wraps up in Reykjavik, Iceland's vibrant capital. Walk around and see the art, culture, and history on display. Check out Laugavegur shopping street and visit the striking Hallgrimskirkja church. If you want, there's the famous Blue Lagoon geothermal spa to visit, or you can join an optional post-program to see the south coast.

    • For any tour departing before April 15th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after April 15th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Hurtigruten. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 120 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
