Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Kolkata

    You'll arrive in Kolkata and head to the jetty around noon for boarding Ganges Voyager. After lunch on the ship, there's a tour of Dalhousie Square where you'll see heritage buildings like St. John's Church and the Victoria Memorial. Settle in for your first night aboard.

  2. Day 2

    Kolkata to Bally Bridge

    Breakfast comes first onboard, then you'll head out to the Flower Market to watch artists making garlands and temple ornaments. From there, move to Kumartuli, a potters' quarter where traditional sculptors work. Back on the ship for lunch, and then you'll sail upstream along the Ganges, passing under the Howrah Bridge and seeing colonial buildings before reaching Bally Bridge. The evening brings Easter celebrations onboard with decorations and activities.

  3. Day 3

    Bandel

    The ship sails further upstream toward Bandel as you have breakfast and lunch onboard. After lunch, you'll visit the Hooghly Imambara, a significant Shia pilgrimage center that also provides housing for pilgrims and runs classrooms.

  4. Day 4

    Kalna

    Sailing to Kalna, you'll have meals onboard, then take e-rickshaws to the Rajbari temple complex. The main attraction is the Nabakailas temple with its 108 eight-slope-roofed shrines devoted to Lord Shiva, plus various temple designs and terracotta plaques showing Hindu epics and everyday scenes. You'll walk through the local vegetable market on the way back to the ship.

  5. Day 5

    Nabadwip to Mayapur

    The ship heads to Nabadwip with breakfast and lunch served onboard. You'll walk through this riverbank village, known for handloom weaving of cotton fabric, saris, and scarves. A country boat takes you across the river to Mayapur, home to ISKCON. There you can stroll the pilgrim's bazaar, meet Krishna followers, and see the temple, which is comparable in size to the Vatican.

    Guptipara to Fulia

    A short sail gets you to Guptipara. After breakfast, you'll explore the town's Vaishnav temples known for their terracotta work, and visit a potter's home to see artisans at work. Lunch happens back on the ship, then you'll sail to the opposite bank to visit Fulia, a weaving village specializing in jacquard and jamdani saree production.

  7. Day 7

    Chandernagore to Serampore to Kolkata

    Following breakfast, you'll sail to Chandernagore, the former French colony. There you'll see colonial buildings along the promenade, including the old French governor's residence turned museum, plus the Sacred Heart Church. Back on the ship for lunch, then you sail to Serampore and walk the old quarters to check out the Danish Tavern, St. Olav's Church, and other Danish heritage sites. The ship continues to Kolkata, arriving by evening.

  • Payment information
    • For any tour departing before January 10th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after January 10th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Antara Cruises. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
    • Some departure dates and prices may vary and Antara Cruises will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
