- Day 1
Departure
Your flight to Mauritius takes off today. You'll have plenty of time during the journey to relax, watch a movie, or just think about what's coming. The tropical island in the Indian Ocean is waiting for you.
- Day 2
Arrival in Mauritius
Landing in Mauritius, you'll pick up your rental car and drive to Grande Rivière Sud Est where you're staying in a glamping tent. After settling in, spend the afternoon walking around the area to get familiar with what's nearby and what you can do.

- Day 3
Île aux Cerfs Boat Tour
At 9:30 am, a boat will take you from Otentic Eco Lodge out to the remote side of Île aux Cerfs. You'll have time to relax on the white sand beaches and swim in the turquoise water before heading back around 1:00 pm. If you want more activity, the lodge has stand-up paddling and kite surfing available.

Mahébourg & Lion Mountain
Drive over to Mahébourg to check out the local market where you can find exotic street food and see how locals shop. From there, hike up Lion Mountain to see the lion shape and look out over the east coast. If hiking doesn't appeal to you, Pointe d'Esny beach is a good alternative for the day.

Black River Gorges National Park
Head into Black River Gorges National Park where you'll find over 60 kilometers of trails to walk. Start at Gorges Viewpoint, then hike the Bel Ombre Trail to Plaine Champagne plateau. You can visit Alexandra Falls and, if you're up for it, hike to Ganga Talao Lake to see the impressive god statues. By evening you'll be staying in Belle Mare.

Port Louis
Spend the day exploring Port Louis, the island's capital. The Central Market is full of fresh fruit and spice blends to browse through. Wander through Le Caudron Waterfront and Chinatown, then stop by Government House. Walk across Umbrella Square and climb up to Fort Adelaide fortress to get a different view of the city.

- Day 7
Island Hop Boat Tour
An optional boat tour takes you out to Gabriel Island, Flat Island, and Coin de Mire. Watch for dolphins as you go and explore the lagoons and beaches. You'll get breakfast and lunch on the boat, plus time to snorkel at Coin de Mire's natural aquarium. Later in the afternoon, head to Pereybere lagoon for more snorkeling with fish, corals, and sea turtles.

Flic en Flac & Tamarind Falls
Drive along the west coast to Flic en Flac, a coastal town with palm trees lining the beaches. Swim in the turquoise water and try some Creole street food for lunch. The Tamarind Falls are worth a visit while you're in the area. Later, relax at Bel Ombre's white sand beach as the evening comes on.

Private Island Experience
A speedboat takes you to a private island in the middle of a turquoise reef. Check out the historic villa that used to belong to a British governor, play beach volleyball, or snorkel in the colorful waters. You can also just relax at the estate. Dinner features grilled Creole seafood and rum cocktails.

Seven Colored Earth & Chamarel Waterfall
You get to choose how to spend this day. If rainforest is your thing, head to Seven Colored Earth with its rainbow hues of red, brown, purple, pink, green, blue, and yellow sand. Chamarel Waterfall has a dramatic natural drop that's worth seeing. You can also hike in Black River Gorge National Park or spend time at Tamarind coast beaches instead.
