- Yuet Fong· May 18th, 2025Itinerary was OK but should include more options for people not participating in the included tours. The guide was very informative and helpful - highly recommended.Show moreTrip date: March 2025
- Vvickie· March 23rd, 2025Whaea gave us a warm welcome and continued to be a caring and supportive and informative tour guide. She was very helpful with answering questions and making arrangements as well as providing us with information about the activities ahead. Some of our accommodation was good and some not so much. The Blue Duck Station portion of the tour was beautiful and wonderful. Sam did an excellent job showing us around and truly made us feel special and at home. She is a wonderful asset to the folks at Blue Duck Station and we would have loved to take her along with us! But the thing that made our tour most memorable was the other group members. We meshed together very well and truly enjoyed each other’s company. We almost always stuck together as a group and helped each other along the way.Show moreTrip date: March 2025

Asked on March 22nd, 2025Do you know if there is an option to use the Rotarua free day to go to Hobbiton?
- Stray TravelOperator•Written March 2025
If you were looking at the Pukeko Tour, we don't typically offer the Hobbiton Tour as an optional activity. However, there are tour operators that run a 1 day tour from Rotorua. Which you could book directly with them on that free day.

Asked on March 1st, 2025For the walk on day 6 and the bike ride on day 7, is it mandatory to participate in those activities? Can the travelers have alternative transportation for those activities?

Traveler•Written March 2025Can you provide arrival and departure transfers?
- Stray TravelOperator•Written March 2025
Tongariro Alpine Crossing is an optional paid activity, so they absolutely do not need to pay to do this walk if they prefer not to. The Bike Ride is an included activity, however it is not mandatory and their guide can drop them off somewhere close by to chill out/ go to a cafe if they prefer.
- Stray TravelOperator•Written March 2025
The meeting point is 8:00am, Mayoral Drive, Auckland CBD (The bus stop opposite the Four Points by Sheraton Auckland). The departure point is in Wellington, the morning after staying at the Naumi Hotel.
- Stray TravelOperator•Written March 2025
I'm afraid we do not offer airport transfers.

Asked on February 28th, 2025How many people are on the trip for 13th March for the New Zealand, what's the ratio of male/female and the age ranges?
- Stray TravelOperator•Written March 2025
I can confirm there are currently 6 people booked, 4 female, 2 male. Age is not something we ask for during the booking process so I cannot confirm the age ranges on this particular tour.

Asked on December 11th, 2024would there be time and a way to get to Hobbitland on the 2nd free day in Rotorua?
- Stray TravelOperator•Written December 2024
Yes, we have had people do this day trip before on that 2nd free day in Rotorua. You would need to arrange it on your own, so please feel free to peruse Google for some options to determine what best suits your budget/needs. There are definitely a few fully guided day trips or half-day trips.

Asked on November 24th, 2023I am interested in this trip - travelling as a solo traveller and 63 years old - could you let me know whether this trip would be suitable?
- Stray TravelOperator•Written November 2023
Yes this trip is suitable for you, our average age is a little younger however we do get people your age and older on our trips. You can also upgrade to a solo room for some privacy in the evenings if you like.

Asked on October 10th, 2022What star are the lodges and hotels like for accommodation during your Pukeko Tour?
- Stray TravelOperator•Written October 2022
Our accommodation is 3-4 star. We do have specialist accommodation for example cabins on a high country farm and on the edge of the Abel Tasman National Park which are very comfortable but won't have star-rating.
