Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Delhi Arrival

    You'll arrive at Delhi airport and get transferred to your hotel. After settling in, you can either rest from your flight or head out to check out some of Delhi's sights if you're feeling up for it. Later, your tour leader meets the group at 6 PM to go over the itinerary, and there's an optional group dinner if you want to join.

  2. Day 2

    Old Delhi Exploration

    This morning you'll take the Metro into Old Delhi and wander through narrow streets and ancient lanes. You'll see the Jama Masjid, India's largest mosque, and the Sisganj Gurudwara to learn about Sikhism. A rickshaw ride takes you through the bustling streets. Later, you'll have a special home-cooked dinner with a local family in an informal setting.

  3. Day 3

    Delhi to Agra

    An early morning train gets you to Agra in about 3 hours. You'll walk through Agra Fort to understand its connection to the Taj Mahal, then visit local artisans and weavers who preserve traditional crafts. By late afternoon, you head to the Taj Mahal for a sunset visit to this iconic monument (75°F/24°C).

  4. Day 4

    Agra to Jaipur

    A 6-hour bus ride takes you to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. During your free afternoon, you can check out a gem polishing and cutting demonstration since Jaipur is famous for precious and semi-precious stones. If tickets are available, catch a Bollywood film at a local theatre in the evening.

  5. Day 5

    Jaipur City Tour

    After breakfast, you'll drive through Jaipur's vibrant Old City with its distinctive ochre-coloured buildings. Next, visit Amber Fort with photo stops at the Hawa Mahal and Jal Mahal. Later you can see Jantar Mantar, an 18th-century stone observatory, explore the City Palace, or watch artisans create intricate block prints.

    Jaipur to Varanasi

    You fly to Varanasi, one of India's most spiritual cities. You'll walk along the eastern bank of the River Ganges and explore the many Ghats where locals come for spiritual and practical purposes. During the afternoon, wander through the activity and sounds of temple bells, boatmen, tea vendors, and kite flyers. In the evening, take a boat ride to see the flower ceremony and evening rituals on the water.

  7. Day 7

    Varanasi Sunrise and Free Day

    Before dawn, you head out on a boat ride across the gentle Ganges as the Ghats wake up. You'll watch locals pay silent homage to the rising sun, see bathers and washermen, watch kite flyers, and see earthen candles being lit as part of daily spiritual rituals. After returning to the hotel for breakfast, the rest of the day is yours to visit Sarnath or browse Varanasi's famous silk fabrics.

  8. Day 8

    Varanasi to Lumbini, Nepal

    Very early this morning, you depart for Nepal with a packed breakfast provided. Lunch timing depends on traffic and road conditions. It's a long drive of about 10 hours, so bring a book or music for the journey. You'll complete border formalities at the India-Nepal crossing, then continue for about an hour to reach Lumbini.

  9. Day 9

    Lumbini to Chitwan

    Start with the Maya Devi Temple, believed to be the birthplace of Buddha. Then it's a 5-hour drive to Chitwan. After you arrive, take a leisurely bicycle ride through mustard fields and into a small tribal village, where you might even spot a rhino shopping in the street. The day ends with a special meal shared with a local family prepared just for the group.

    Chitwan Jungle Safari and Canoe Ride

    After breakfast, you board a dug-out canoe and drift down the Rapti River before your jungle safari begins. Look out for one-horned rhinos in the tall grass and sloth bears in the reeds, though spotting them depends on luck. Following the safari, you travel to Pokhara and take a walking tour to get your bearings of this beautiful city dominated by the Annapurna Range.

Or simply relax at one of the many lakeside restaurants overlooking Phewa Lake and watch the world go by. In the afternoon, take a boat ride across the lake listening to the gentle splash of oars, then head out for dinner.

    Pokhara to Kathmandu

    After a hearty breakfast, you board the bus for Kathmandu, your final destination, which is about 7 hours away. The journey includes short breaks over suspension bridges, past white-water rapids, and with views of distant hills. Upon arrival, you'll explore the streets of Thamel with its cafes, bars, restaurants, mountain gear shops, and vibrant tourist energy.

    Kathmandu Free Day

    Today is free to explore Kathmandu's spiritual and cultural treasures. Consider an optional scenic flight over Mount Everest, or visit Boudhnath Stupa to watch pilgrims and travellers visiting its grounds. You can explore Pashupatinath Temple where Hindus perform last rites, climb to Swayambunath Temple for city views, or wander the medieval streets of Darbar Square. Try local restaurants and do some last-minute souvenir shopping before the group farewell dinner.

For tours departing after February 2nd, 2026, a minimum payment of $400 is required to confirm your booking with One World Adventures. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 50 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
