- Day 1
Hanoi
You'll land at Noi Bai airport and get transferred straight to your hotel in central Hanoi. The afternoon is yours to explore the Old Quarter on a food tour, where you'll taste local dishes and pick up some background on the city's character and history. It's a good way to get oriented and work up an appetite on your first evening.

Hanoi
After breakfast at the hotel, your guide meets you to start hitting the major sites. You'll head to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, then over to the Temple of Literature, and work through several pagodas and museums scattered around the city. It's a full day of learning Vietnam's history and seeing how the culture shaped the capital over time.

Ninh Binh
Breakfast comes first, then you're driving south to Ninh Binh, Vietnam's old capital. Once there, check out Hoa Lu and its 10th-century temples before jumping on a boat through the Trang An grottoes. The ride takes you past 31 valleys and through about 50 caves that cross water, all surrounded by forested mountains. It's peaceful and quite different from the city energy.

Halong Bay
Today's the drive up to Halong Bay, the UNESCO site known for its thousands of limestone islands and caves jutting from the water. You'll board your cruise and have lunch while sailing out among the islands. Afternoons typically mix activities like kayaking around the islands, swimming in designated areas, exploring caves, or just taking in the scenery depending on what your cruise includes.

Halong Bay to Hanoi
