    Bucharest to Oltenita

    This morning includes a guided tour of Royal Palace Square, where the 1989 riots against Nicolae Ceausescu took place. After that, you'll travel to Oltenita and board your Avalon Suite Ship in the afternoon. Explore the ship this evening, have dinner on board, then sail overnight to Rousse.

    Rousse

    In Rousse, you can pick between a bike tour or a classic guided tour to see Bulgaria's largest inland port and the Holy Trinity Church. Later, sail to Svistov or take a full-day guided tour to Veliko Tarnovo, the former Bulgarian capital, with its ancient stone houses and 15th-century Revival architecture in nearby Arbanassi. You'll rejoin the ship in Svistov for an overnight cruise to Vidin.

    We would like to thank our Statesman Attendee that took care of all our needs in our room 107. He was friendly and did an amazing job, Marisio our waiter served us with the highest respect and friendliness. Over all Avalon have very good staff and always a smile- nothing too much trouble. The ship was so clean, food was spectacular. We had a surprise group of singers Gwen and Charles who brought great entertainment. The other entertainer was amazing. Loved the top deck BBQ. We met lots of new friends aboard. Thank you Avalon for a trip well executed.
