  1. Day 1

    Munich

    You'll arrive in Munich with your first day completely open. It's a good time to get oriented, walk around the city streets at your own pace, or just settle into your accommodation. No scheduled activities, so you can rest up or start exploring on your own terms.

  2. Day 2

    Munich to Neuschwanstein Castle

    A guided excursion takes you out to Neuschwanstein Castle in the Bavarian Alps. The drive itself is the real highlight here—you'll see the Alpine landscape and get to the castle, which was King Ludwig's former home. It's one of Bavaria's most recognizable sites, and the setting makes it really worth the trip.

  3. Day 3

    Munich to Vilshofen to Linz

    Start with a guided tour of Munich, hitting Nymphenburg Palace and the Old and New Town Halls at Marienplatz. After that, you'll transfer to Vilshofen where your Avalon Suite Ship is waiting. You'll board in the evening and start cruising toward Linz, so settle in and get comfortable on the ship.

    Linz

    In Linz you've got three options for a guided activity: hike up Mount Postlingberg for views across the area, see the 9th-century St. Florian Monastery, or walk through the historic sites along the Danube. During free time, there's an optional visit to Mauthausen Memorial if you're interested. By evening, the ship sails to Ybbs.

    Ybbs to Krems

    At Ybbs you can either bike around town or take a guided tour of Artstetten Castle. Later, cruise into the Wachau Valley heading toward Krems—and here you choose again: bike through the valley, do a wine tasting, or take a guided walk through the town. There's live entertainment on the ship before you sail to Vienna overnight.

Bike along the Danube Island, visit the Kunsthistorisches Museum, or take a guided tour of Habsburg landmarks like the Imperial Palace, Vienna Opera House, and St. Stephen's Cathedral. Optional extras include a tour of Schonbrunn Palace or a royal waltz concert if you want to experience something more formal.

In the afternoon, you'll board the ship again for an overnight cruise to Budapest.

    We would like to thank our Statesman Attendee that took care of all our needs in our room 107. He was friendly and did an amazing job, Marisio our waiter served us with the highest respect and friendliness. Over all Avalon have very good staff and always a smile- nothing too much trouble. The ship was so clean, food was spectacular. We had a surprise group of singers Gwen and Charles who brought great entertainment. The other entertainer was amazing. Loved the top deck BBQ. We met lots of new friends aboard. Thank you Avalon for a trip well executed.

    ship was excellent, food and drinks were great, adventures perfectly organized,all crew members were extremely friendly and helpful. One person was outstanding and needs to be mentioned: our cruise director GAYLE. She was just outstanding and the best we ever experienced.

The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 95 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
