Lyon to Tournus
Your French river cruise begins when flights arrive in Lyon by 2 pm. From there, head to the dock and get settled on your suite ship by 5 pm. You'll spend your first night docked in Tournus, giving you time to unpack and familiarize yourself with the ship before sailing starts.

Tournus
This morning, a local guide takes you through Tournus, one of Burgundy's oldest monastic centers. You can choose between a Chardonnay cellar wine tasting or an onboard wine lecture while the ship sails to Mâcon. Stop by the Adventure Center during the day to pick which activities you'd like to do later in the cruise.

Trévoux to Lyon
The ship sails to Lyon this morning, and you'll have an onboard cheese and wine tasting. Pick your activity for the afternoon: a scenic bike ride along the rivers where the Rhône and Saône meet, a guided sightseeing tour from Fourvière Hill, or a WWII and French Resistance lecture. Later, after dinner, there's live entertainment on board.

Lyon to Tournon
Spend your day either on a culinary walk through Lyon learning why it's called France's gastronomic capital, or head out on a guided tour of the Beaujolais wine region. That evening, the ship's Master of Wine hosts a food and wine pairing dinner before you cruise to Tournon.

Tournon to Viviers to Avignon
Start your morning with either a vineyard hike with views or a guided walking tour of medieval Tournon with its 16th-century castle and wine and chocolate tasting. After lunch, the ship sails leisurely to Viviers where you'll take a late afternoon guided tour through the village's pale-stone buildings, Romanesque cathedral, and Old Town. Live entertainment happens on board before cruising to Avignon.

You'll have free time afterward to visit Le Café van Gogh and grab a glass of wine.

Nice
Take a guided sightseeing tour of Nice to wander through the narrow, winding streets and baroque churches of Vieux Nice, the old city. The area has stayed largely the same since the 1700s, so you'll get a real sense of the city's history.
