Itinerary
- Day 1
Luxor
Your local guide meets you at Luxor airport or hotel, then transfers you to your Nile cruise. You'll start on the East Bank, walking through the Temple of Karnak with its 134 massive columns and the Avenue of Sphinxes lined with sphinx statues. After that, you head to Luxor Temple to see how ancient Egyptian, Christian, and Islamic architecture all exist in the same space. By evening you're settled on the ship with tea and dinner served on board.

- Day 2
Luxor
If you choose the optional hot air balloon ride, you'll head out around 4:30 AM for a 40 to 55 minute flight over the West Bank at sunrise. Back on board you'll have breakfast, then explore the West Bank including the Valley of the Kings where you see tombs from different dynasties, the Colossi of Memnon, and Hatshepsut's Temple. Lunch happens back on the cruise, then you sail toward Esna. Afternoon tea and a disco party round out the evening.

- Day 3
Edfu to Kom Ombo
After breakfast on board, you visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu, one of the best preserved Ptolemaic temples you'll see. The craftsmanship here is really something. Lunch comes back on the ship, then you explore Temple of Kom Ombo which is dedicated to two gods, Sobek the crocodile deity and Horus the Elder. The twin sanctuaries and matching entrances make it quite unusual. You'll have afternoon tea before heading back to the ship for dinner.

- Day 4
Aswan
The ship sails to Aswan where you'll see the Aswan High Dam, a massive structure completed in 1968. It created Lake Nasser when it was finished. From there you head to the Temple of Philae on Agilika Island, dedicated to the goddess Isis. The whole temple was actually moved by UNESCO to higher ground to protect it from the dam's flooding, which is quite the engineering feat in itself.

- Day 5
Abu Simbel
Around 5:00 AM your guide picks you up for the trip to Abu Simbel, home to one of Egypt's most remarkable rock-cut temples. These temples were carved into the rock for King Ramesses II and Queen Nefertari. You'll explore both, then head back to the cruise around noon to collect your belongings and prepare to head home.
