Regarding the drop off, I recommend to be in Aswan after Abu Simbel around 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. before the cruise sails (the cruise will sail to Kom Ombo). This is a much cheaper than taking a transfer from Abu Simbel to Aswan and then from Aswan to Kom Ombo city by car.

Aswan to Abu Simbel
Your hotel pickup in Aswan gets you started early for the small group drive to Abu Simbel. Once you arrive, you'll walk through the two main temples that sit right on Lake Nasser, with the Great Temple of Ramesses II (also called the Sun Temple) being the main draw here. This place really shows off what ancient Egyptian builders could do during the New Kingdom period. After you've spent time looking around both temples and taking in the carved details, you'll head back to your hotel in Aswan by late afternoon.

The way the agency organized the tour was nothing short of excellence. It was perfect and myself and my friend really enjoyed every minute of the tour. Starting from cairo and then to luxor and then to aswan and back to cairo, everything was taken care off. And all the things mentioned in itinerary were followed with precise timings so that most of the sites were covered before late afternoon to escape the scorching heat and the even more great part is none of the sites were rushed. Yoma, our tour organizer, catered to our specifications with ease and was always communicating and checking on us to know if everything is fine.
