Itinerary
- Day 1
Casablanca to Rabat
Your journey starts at the airport where you'll meet up and head into Casablanca. The Hassan II Mosque is your first stop, and it's quite impressive as Africa's largest mosque with intricate tilework covering the exterior. From there you'll drive to Rabat for your first night, giving you time to walk through the medina and get oriented with the city's layout and rhythm.

Rabat to Chefchaouen
After breakfast you have a private guided tour of Rabat, hitting Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, Kasbah Oudaias, and Chellah necropolis. Later in the afternoon, you'll drive through the Rif Mountains passing through Kénitra and Wazzan on your way to Chefchaouen, the blue town. Once there you can walk the medina, check out the Spanish-style square, browse craft shops, and relax at rooftop cafes.

- Day 3
Chefchaouen to Meknes
Starting early after breakfast, you'll see the 2,000-year-old Roman ruins at Volubilis and get a sense of what life looked like centuries ago. Next comes Moulay Idriss for lunch, one of Morocco's holiest villages, which gives you a feel for pilgrimage sites. Then you move on to Meknes to see its 16 miles of protective walls, the Moulay Ismail Mosque, and explore the former royal stables and granaries.

- Day 4
Fes
Today you spend time in Fes, Morocco's oldest Imperial City founded back in 790 A.D. Your guide takes you through Old Fes to see Bou Inania Medersa, the medina, and Kairaouine Mosque. During the afternoon you check out New Fes and the Museum of Moroccan Arts. By evening you're back at your riad in Fes for dinner and an overnight stay.

Fes to Merzouga
You depart Fes at 8:00 AM heading south through the Middle Atlas, driving past Ifrane with its distinctive sloping-roof houses, Azrou where Barbary apes live in cedar forests, and Midelt known as the apple capital. The route takes you over the Tizi-n-Talghemt pass, through the Ziz Valley's famous palm oasis, and past ksar villages to reach the red Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga. There you'll ride a camel, explore the desert, visit Khamlia for Gnawa music and Tafilalet, then have dinner with Berber music and stargazing at your luxury desert camp.

- Day 6
Merzouga to Dades Valley
Wake up early to catch the desert sunrise if weather cooperates. After breakfast at camp, you head to Tinghir and the Toudgha Gorges where you can see the ingenious irrigation channels called khettarat that locals built centuries ago. Later you drive to the Dades Valley and Dades Gorges, which formed from ancient coral reefs and sedimentary rocks, then overnight in a hotel or kasbah in the area.

- Day 7
Dades Valley to Ouarzazate
Following breakfast you take a short walk in the Dades Gorges, then head off-road along the Boutarar piste to visit Berber nomads living in caves where you'll have tea and conversation. Next comes the Valley of the Roses, known for its May Rose Festival, and you'll see the beautifully restored adobe Kasbah Amredhil in Skoura. By evening you reach Ouarzazate for the night.

Ouarzazate to Marrakech
After breakfast you drive to Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco's seven World Heritage sites and a famous Hollywood film location with buildings dating to the 17th century. You continue through the scenic Ounila Valley with colorful rock formations and Berber villages, visit Telouet and its ruined kasbah that was once the Pasha of Marrakech's seat, cross the Tichka pass, and arrive in Marrakech by late afternoon.

- Day 9
Marrakech
You explore Marrakech starting with Djemma El Fna square where juice stalls, henna artists, and street performers create constant activity. Throughout the day you visit Majorelle Gardens known for its special blue color, Koutoubia Mosque, El Bahia Palace, Ben Youssef Medersa, Saadian Tombs, the Jewish souk in Mellah, and Jardin Secret. You spend another night at your riad here.

Marrakech to Casablanca
Your driver picks you up from your riad and takes you to Casablanca airport in time to check in for your flight. Your desert tour adventure concludes as you head to the airport and prepare for departure.
