Shanghai
A local guide takes you through Shanghai's fashion highlights. You'll walk the Bund, check out Yu Garden, browse Nanjing East Road, and see Xintiandi. Keep in mind the City God Temple replaces Yuyuan Garden if you're here on a Monday when it's closed.

Shanghai to Suzhou
After a 1.5 hour drive, you'll reach Suzhou, a historic city with incredible gardens. The day covers the Net Master Garden and Humble Administrator's Garden, a boat ride on the Grand Canal, the Silk Museum, and time wandering Shantang Street.

Suzhou to Nanjing
A 3 hour drive brings you to Nanjing. You'll see the old Ming Dynasty city wall, then visit either the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre or Chaotian Palace if it's closed. Later, head to the Fuzimiao area around the Confucius Temple to see the Qinhuai River at night.

After breakfast, visit Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum to learn about Dr. Sun and modern Chinese history. From there, head to Xiaoling Mausoleum, a World Heritage site built for the first Ming emperor with large impressive statues throughout.

Nanjing to Hangzhou
