- Day 1
Arrival in Bentota
Your flight arrives and you'll be met at the airport with a paging board. An English-speaking chauffeur guide transfers you to your hotel in Bentota. After settling in, you'll have dinner at the hotel and can rest from your journey.

Bentota to Galle
Following breakfast, you head to Galle on the southern coast. At Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery you'll learn about sea turtle conservation and watch hatchling releases. Next comes a boat safari down the Madu River where you explore mangroves and islands, with a stop at Cinnamon Island to see how cinnamon is produced. You spend the night in Galle.

Then you transfer to Yala National Park for a safari where knowledgeable guides help you spot elephants, leopards, sloth bears, and other wildlife. You'll stay overnight in Thissamharamaya.

After the safari you rest and take in the natural surroundings. Overnight stays in Udawalawe.

Udawalawe to Ella
After breakfast you travel to Ella with a stop at the 10th-century Buduruwagala Buddha Statue, a 50-foot-tall rock carving at an important archaeological site. You visit Ravana Falls, an 82-foot waterfall where you can take a refreshing dip. Once in Ella you check out the famous Nine Arches Bridge from British colonial times, then explore the hill town with its scenic views, hiking trails, and tea plantations. You stay overnight in Ella.

Ella
The day focuses on exploring Ella's attractions. You start with an easy hike up Little Adam's Peak for panoramic views. Later you experience the Ravana Zipline soaring over the falls and valleys. You visit Lipton Seat viewpoint for views of tea plantations and hills, and enjoy tea while taking in the scenery. A traditional Sri Lankan cooking class with a local family in Dambetenna lets you learn to prepare authentic dishes. You stay overnight in Ella.

You visit a Hindu temple to learn about the town's cultural diversity and see its colorful architecture and sculptures. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.

At Ramboda Falls, a 109-meter waterfall surrounded by thick flora, you see why photographers and nature enthusiasts visit. In Kandy you see the Temple of Sacred Tooth Relic Shrine, explore Kandy Lake, and visit the Kandy View Point for city views. A traditional dance performance ends the day. You stay overnight in Kandy.

Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden, one of Asia's largest, offers diverse plants, bamboo, rare orchids, and features like a Javan fig tree and suspension bridge. An evening cultural dance exhibition showcases traditional Sri Lankan performance. Overnight in Kandy.

The nearly 1,500-year-old rock fortress has magnificent paintings, lush gardens, and complex water systems with opportunity to climb to the summit. You visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, the country's largest cave temple complex with five major caves filled with statues and paintings. A village tour includes a bullock cart ride, canoe ride, tuk tuk ride, and traditional equipment to see rural life. Overnight in Dambulla.

You visit Mihintale, a historic pilgrimage site where Buddhism was introduced, featuring ancient stupas, temples, and monasteries with panoramic views. Climbing the steps to the summit lets you explore the monuments. Overnight in Wilpattu.
