Itinerary

Day 1
Kathmandu to Salleri to Jiri
You'll head out from Kathmandu in a jeep early in the morning, starting on a scenic drive toward Salleri and then continuing on to Jiri. The route covers about 266.9 km over 8 to 9 hours, so it's a full day of travel but you get to see the landscape gradually change as you move toward the Everest Region. This drive works as an alternative to flying into Lukla, giving you a chance to acclimate while taking in the hills and vegetation along the way. By evening you'll arrive in Jiri, which serves as the starting point for trekking routes into the mountains.
