Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival
You'll arrive in Costa Rica and get settled into your accommodations. Later this evening, join your Travel Director and the rest of the group for a Welcome Reception to officially start the trip.

Tortuguero
Start with a chocolate workshop in San Isidro de Heredia where you'll learn how chocolate is made from bean to bar. After that, you'll travel to Tortuguero and take a cruise through protected wetlands and rainforest canals, spotting wildlife along the way. You'll meet some village pioneers who can share what life is like there, then head to Laguna Lodge for dinner with the sounds of the jungle around you.

- Meet master chocolatiers Julio Fernandez and George Soriano at small workshop to learn about history of chocolate and its production in San Isidro de Heredia

- Visit the Village of Tortuguero and meet village pioneers to learn about their way of life
- Learn the story of Laguna Lodge and how it was built with materials that protect the biodiverse environment

- Day 3
Tortuguero
Spend the day cruising the canals and streams of Tortuguero National Park where you'll see howler monkeys, toucans, egrets, and crocodiles. Later, walk through the Village of Tortuguero to check out local life. If you're visiting between July and September, there's an optional sea turtle nesting tour available.

- Day 4
Tortuguero to Sarapiqui
Head back to the mainland from Tortuguero early in the day. You'll have lunch, then meet a local Tico family at their palm plantation to learn about heart of palm and try some. By evening, the hotel owners prepare a special barbecue dinner for the group.

Landmarks Hacienda Pozo Azul 
- Day 5
Sarapiqui to Arenal
Take an early nature walk to look for wildlife including the endangered great green macaw. If you're interested, there's an optional rafting trip. Later, connect with locals at an eco-friendly hacienda for a Be My Guest lunch on an organic farm. From there, head to Arenal Volcano and spend the evening relaxing in the resort's thermal pools.

- Day 6
Arenal to Monteverde
After a relaxed morning, travel to Monteverde Cloud Forest, a biodiverse area famous for orchids. You'll meet descendants of native Quakers and a Local Specialist who'll fill you in on Old Town Monteverde and the history of American Quakers who settled there in the 1950s. Dinner comes with nice views of the area.

- Explore Monteverde Cloud Forest, renowned for its collection of orchid species
- Meet descendants of native Quaker and Local Specialist to learn stories of Old Town Monteverde and history of American Quakers who settled in the area in the 1950s
Landmarks Monteverde Cloud Forest Continental Divide 
- Day 7
Monteverde
Go on an excursion through Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve with your Local Specialist. Walk on the Sky Walk suspension bridges above the forest floor to see canopy wildlife up close. The day wraps up with a Farewell Dinner where you can share stories and memories with the group.
