This was one of the best things I’ve ever done, I had such a wonderful experience, made brilliant new friends and saw the most stunning scenery imaginable. YellowWood Adventures made the trip so enjoyable and painless, so if you want a different kind of adventure off the beaten track, I highly recommend you book with these guys!!”

I did a similar tour with Yellow Wood but one that incorporated the World Nomad Games at Issyk-Kul. The landscape was of course the star of the show, with an itinerary that allowed us to experience a range of locations, from the Silk-Road splendour of Tash Rabat to the unmatched serenity of Song-Kul, experiences enriched by tour leader Sam and his able crew of Kyrgyz assistants, always aware and attentive but never intrusive. Yurt accomodation was surprisingly comfortable and the food, prepared by local families, delicious and plentiful. I would not hesitate to recommend Yellow Wood to anybody looking for a stimulating, memorable and ultimately exhilarating Kyrgyzstan escapade – particularly if Sam keeps his promise to upgrade the tour bus!

Had a great time...Iran’s Dizin is a great, varied-run ski resort, perfect for beginners but equally challenging enough for more advanced skiers. It’s size coupled with the lack of people skiing really makes you feel like you have the place to yourself. It was great to incorporate cultural elements into the trip – Tehran a bustling city perched on a slanting hillside nestled between picturesque snow-capped mountains with colourful flower markets and aromatic nuts, seeds and spices stools. The city has an ‘East meets West’ feel to it. The grand bazaar is ‘must do’ whilst in Tehran!

This trip is a category 3 tour which means you will need to be in good physical health to enjoy your active holiday, but you don't need to be an experienced hiker. These itineraries offer a mix of sightseeing and easier walking for around 2-4hrs a day, with the emphasis on sights and cultural experiences. Walks will be well marked or on defined pathways, and often around sites of interest. The expected amount of descent/ascent will depend on the landscapes of the destination, but will not exceed 400m/day, and will often be much less. Walks are at low altitude (below 3000m). You will not be required to carry more than a day sack with water and essentials. Ensure you are aware of the weather conditions likely in the destination you are visiting and have a pair of comfortable and worn in walking shoes/boots.
