Itinerary
- Day 1
San José
You'll arrive in San José and meet up with your German-speaking guide. After getting settled at your hotel, the day is open for you to walk around the capital and get a feel for the city on your own terms.
- Day 2
San José
Breakfast happens at Hotel Auténtico before heading out on a guided bus tour around San José. You'll see the National Theater, Plaza de la Cultura, the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum, Metropolitan Cathedral, and the Central Market. The afternoon frees up so you can either rest at the hotel or continue exploring the city at your own pace.

San José to Tortuguero
After breakfast at Hotel Auténtico, you'll travel by bus through Costa Rican landscapes with banana plantations and rivers visible along the way. You'll reach Tortuguero and board a boat to paddle through the canals where monkeys, caimans, turtles, and tropical birds hang out. Later you'll check into your lodge and settle in for the night.

- Day 4
Tortuguero
Breakfast at Laguna Lodge starts your day before a guided hike into Tortuguero National Park. Your guide will lead you through jungle trails looking for howler monkeys, sloths, poison dart frogs, toucans, and other birds hiding in the vegetation. You'll head back to the lodge after to rest and soak in the natural surroundings.

- Day 5
Tortuguero to La Fortuna de Arenal
You'll have breakfast at Laguna Lodge and then take a boat through the Tortuguero canals spotting wildlife like birds, monkeys, caimans, and turtles. After that, you'll transfer by land to La Fortuna de Arenal, seeing rainforest, rivers, and villages as you go. You'll arrive at your hotel in this region and get settled for your stay.

- Day 6
La Fortuna de Arenal
Breakfast at your hotel comes with views of Arenal volcano. You'll head to Arenal National Park 1968 for a scenic drive and hike through trails past lush vegetation and ancient lava flows, learning about the area's volcanic past. In the afternoon, you'll walk across elevated suspension bridges through the treetops for different views of the rainforest and chances to spot animals.

La Fortuna de Arenal to Rincón de la Vieja
After breakfast, you'll drive through dense forests and volcanic hills heading toward Rincón de la Vieja volcano. The landscapes shift as you travel through different parts of Costa Rica. When you arrive at your lodge, the afternoon is yours to relax and use the natural hot springs, pools, and forest trails on the property.

Rincón de la Vieja
Breakfast at Rinconcito Lodge surrounded by forest sets you up for a guided hike into Rincón de la Vieja National Park in the Pailas sector. You'll see steaming fumaroles, bubbling mud pools, and natural hot springs while your guide explains the geology and natural history of the area and points out local plants and animals.

Rincón de la Vieja to Samara
You'll transfer to your beach hotel in Samara where relaxation becomes the main activity. Spend your time swimming in clear waters, lying under palm trees, and just taking in the peace and natural beauty of the Pacific beaches.

Samara to San José
You'll transfer from Samara back to San José for your final night in the capital before heading home to Germany.

San José
Free time fills your morning until your return flight. You'll transfer to San José airport and board your flight back to Germany, bringing your Costa Rican trip to a close.
- Day 14
Frankfurt
You'll arrive back in Germany after your time in Costa Rica.
