Can you explain what the additional $2200 covers for this tour? Are these additional mandatory fees or simply what the average traveler pays for their food and optional tours?

Over the years, we have found that lots of costs can only be paid in cash during a tour, so we split the overall cost of the tour into 'Expedition Payment' and 'Local Payment'. The Local Payment is just a way of getting cash out to the tour leader to cover some of the costs along the way that need to be paid in cash (food, accommodation, access to sites, vehicle maintenance, and other fees that we might come across along the way). The expedition payment is paid in advance, and the local payment is paid on the first day of the tour in USD cash, when the group meets. Both figures combined are the tour's total cost.

Are there additional travel dates beyond February 13th? Can I rent a tent from Madvnture?

We only have 1 departure per year, and this year the tour starts on February 13th. The next one will be in February 2025. Unfortunately we don't have tents we can hire out, you'd need to bring one with you.

Madventure offered a really good trip as I was with them for 11 months. I did the Alaska to Rio trip and then the newly introduced Rio to Rio trip. The trips include a combination of camping as well as hostels/guesthouses. The itinerary gave us enough time to see everything that we needed to see on the trip plus some added extras. We camped in some extraordinary locations and the photography was beautiful along the way. When booking your next holiday, look no further than Madventure!!!

Payment information
- For any tour departing before February 14th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after February 14th, 2026, a minimum payment of 50% is required to confirm your booking with Madventure. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 135 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Madventure will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "Madventure" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
