Itinerary
- Day 1
Cape Town to Montagu
You'll land at Cape Town International Airport where your Across Africa Tours representative will be waiting. Depending on when you arrive, there's time for a short guided tour through Cape Town Centre before heading inland. From there, you'll drive through the historic winelands and into the Klein Karoo region, eventually reaching Montagu, a town known for its roses, wine production, and Muskadel grapes.

- Day 2
Montagu to Wilderness
This morning you'll leave Montagu early and head out on Route 62, which is the longest wine route in the country. The drive takes you through mountains toward the Great Karoo, and you'll stop at Ronnie's Sex Shop bar along the way. After crossing the Montagu Pass, you'll explore the underground Cango Caves and visit Oudtshoorn to see ostriches. Weather permitting, you'll check out Wilderness National Park before settling in for the night in Wilderness.

Wilderness to Addo Elephant Park
You're heading eastward along the Indian Ocean coastline today, passing through Wilderness National Park, Knysna, Garden Route National Park, and Tsitsikamma National Park before arriving at Addo Elephant Park in the Eastern Cape. At 3 PM your first Big 5 game drive starts, then you'll have dinner around a bush campfire. After that comes a night game drive, and you'll spend the night at Schotia lodge.

Addo Elephant Park to Tsitsikamma
Most of today is spent in Addo Elephant Park, which was established back in 1931 to protect elephants from extinction. The park now has over 350 elephants plus buffalo, rhinos, and various antelope species across its 120,000 hectares. You'll take a 3 to 4 hour guided drive through the park. In the afternoon you'll travel to Tsitsikamma for dinner at Tsitsikamma Lodge and Spa, then sleep in the forest for the night.

- Day 5
Tsitsikamma to Plettenberg Bay
Start the day with a visit to Tsitsikamma National Park and a walk across the suspension bridge there. Next, you'll head to Storm River Bloukrans Bungee, which is the world's highest commercial bungee bridge at 216 meters above the Bloukrans River. From there, you'll travel along the Garden Route coastline and end up in Plettenberg Bay, where you'll stay the night.

Plettenberg Bay to Hermanus
Today you're traveling from Plettenberg Bay back toward Cape Town, passing through farmlands and mountains before reaching the coast. You'll visit the Knysna Heads and its harbour, then continue to Hermanus. This town is famous for southern right whale watching between July and November, and it's also home to the only whale-cryer in the world. You'll spend the night in Hermanus.

Landmarks Knysna Heads Hermanus - Day 7
Hermanus to Cape Town
You'll drive along the Botrivier Lagoon and follow the Whale Route to Stoney Point, where there's a real penguin colony. The drive continues along what many consider one of the most beautiful coastal roads in the country, leading to Gordons Bay at the foot of the Hottentots Mountains. From there, you'll take the scenic coastal road as False Bay transitions to the Cape of Good Hope, then head back into Cape Town. Your driver will drop you at any location in the city in the late afternoon, ending the tour.
