Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Nairobi to Masai Mara

    Head out from Nairobi this morning and drive through Kenya's countryside toward Masai Mara Game Reserve. You'll pass through local villages where cattle and goats graze, and there'll be chances to stop at small shops if you want to pick up handmade souvenirs directly from the communities there. Once you reach the park, wildlife spotting begins right away, so bring your camera and keep your eyes open from the start.

  2. Day 2

    Masai Mara

    Get up before dawn for a sunrise game drive where you might catch predators hunting or see massive groups of wildebeest moving across the landscape. The Big 5 are out here somewhere, along with cape buffalo, elephants, rhinos, Thomson's gazelle, topi, hartebeest, and hippos. Various bird species will be around too. After the drive wraps up, head back to the lodge to rest and prepare for tomorrow.

  3. Day 3

    Masai Mara

    Leave early and spend the full day doing both wildlife viewing and spending time with the local Maasai community. Your guides will use radio contact to track down the best spots for lions, leopards, and cheetahs. At a nearby Maasai village, locals will share their traditional way of life and invite you into their homes. Later, return to the lodge for more game viewing before dinner.

  4. Day 4

    Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park

    Early start heading to Keekorok airstrip for your flight to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. After clearing customs and arriving at your lodge, you'll get settled. If there's still daylight left, head out in an open-top safari truck for an evening game drive to get your first look at the Serengeti landscape.

  5. Day 5

    Serengeti National Park

    Spend your day driving across the Serengeti plains for both morning and afternoon game drives. Millions of wildebeest migrate through here along with around 200,000 zebras, creating one of nature's most active scenes. Lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, and countless other animals make this Africa's largest national park feel alive with constant activity.

  6. Day 6

    Serengeti to Karatu

    This morning's game drive takes you out to search for elephants, topi, wildebeest, zebra, and big cats. Later, drive to Olduvai Gorge and the Museum of Humankind, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where Dr. Leakey found hominid fossils and evidence of early upright-walking humans. After lunch at the museum, climb 2,000 feet up to the Ngorongoro crater rim, then settle into the Country Lodge in Karatu.

    Karatu to Kilimanjaro

    Start your final morning at the African Galleria to shop for wood art, paintings, and Tanzanite jewelry. Then take a cultural village tour to see how locals grow bananas and create wood art, plus try some banana beer. Mama Africa will prepare a traditional African meal for you before you drive to Kilimanjaro airport for your flight home.

The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
