Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu to Chame
Begin with a 6-7 hour bus ride to Besisahar, then switch to a jeep for the drive through Jagat and Dharapani. You'll arrive in Chame by evening, a small settlement on the Marsyangdi River with several major peaks visible from town. The road winds through changing landscapes as you gain elevation gradually.

Chame
Another 6-7 hour bus journey takes you to Besisahar before transferring to a jeep. From there, drive through Jagat and the busy town of Dharapani on your way to Chame. By the time you settle in for the night, you'll have clear views of Annapurna II, Lamjung Himal, Manaslu, and Peak 29 from your location on the river.

Chame to Pisang
Trek out of Chame this morning heading toward Pisang. You'll pass through Telekhu village with the Annapurna Ranges and Mt. Pisang coming into view. Later you'll cross a suspension bridge spanning the Marsyangdi River, then walk through a pine forest before the trail starts climbing into the upper Manang Valley where you'll reach Pisang.

Pisang to Braga
Leave Pisang and trek to Braga, a traditional Tibetan village with distinctive architecture where houses are stacked one on top of another. The region's largest Buddhist temple, the Gompa, sits in the village. Many trekkers use this stop for acclimatization, so you might find the area fairly quiet with good opportunities to explore the local culture.

Braga to Manang
This is an active acclimatization day. You'll climb up to Khangsar at 3756m/12,320ft and then return to Manang for your overnight stay. The climb helps your body adjust to the higher altitude while keeping you moving, which is better for acclimatization than staying completely still in one location.

Landmarks Khangsar - Day 6
Manang to Khangsar
From Manang, trek through Khangsar, an unusual stone village that looks quite different from other settlements in the region. Follow the ridge trail as it winds toward Khangsar at 3734m/12,250ft. The views here include Kang Guru Peak, which you won't see from many other places along this route.

Khangsar to Sri Kharka
Spend 5 to 6 hours trekking up toward Tilicho Lake, which sits at the base of Tilicho Peak. Along the way you might see yaks and deer moving through the landscape. The lake changes color throughout the day depending on the light, shifting between different shades of blue. After spending time there, head back down to Sri Kharka for the night.

Sri Kharka to Thorong Phedi
Trek downward from Sri Kharka to Khangsar Village, then walk past Tare Gumba monastery. Follow the Thorong Khola Valley through the area, passing the abandoned village of Old Khangsar on the way. Continue through Yak Kharka and after about 3 more hours you'll arrive at Thorong Phedi, your base for the big pass crossing tomorrow.

Thorong Phedi to Muktinath
This is the most challenging day of the entire trek, taking 7-8 hours of hiking at significant altitude. The wind can be strong up here, so pack accordingly. You'll encounter herds of sheep and yaks, plus the merchants who supply high-altitude teahouses. After crossing Thorong La Pass, which gives views of Annapurna, Gangapurna, and Khatungkang, you'll descend roughly 1600m/5,250ft to Muktinath. The full day comes to about 10 hours.

Muktinath to Pokhara
Leave Muktinath and travel by jeep through Jomsom, Tatopani, and Beni Bazaar as you head toward Pokhara. By evening you'll reach a hotel on the shores of Phewa Tal lake. After settling in, walk around the lakeside area to check out the shops and catch the sunset, which reflects off the Annapurna ranges across the water.

Landmarks Phewa Tal Annapurna Range - Day 11
Pokhara to Kathmandu
Board a local bus heading back to Kathmandu. The route follows the Marsyangdi River and then the Trishuli River as you descend toward the capital. Your trek concludes once you arrive in Kathmandu, where your guides can help with information about other possible adventures around Nepal if you have time left on your trip.
