  1. Day 1

    Arrival in Guatemala City

    You'll arrive at Guatemala City's international airport where transportation meets you for the drive to your hotel in Zona 10, the city's safest district. After checking in and settling from your flight, there's time to rest before heading to a 6 PM briefing meeting at the hotel to go over the week ahead.

  2. Day 2

    Guatemala City to Antigua

    The day starts with a city tour covering Las Américas Avenue and its Latin American monuments, then you'll head to Plaza Berlin for views looking out toward the volcanoes. From there it's along Reforma Avenue to see imported statues and the Yurrita Church with its mix of architectural styles. You'll walk through the Civic Center's mid-century buildings, down historic Paseo de la Sexta Avenida, and through Pasaje Rubio's Italian-influenced architecture before reaching Plaza Mayor de la Constitución. Then comes a roughly two-hour drive to Antigua where you'll see Central Park, the Palace of the General Captains, San José Church, the Second Cathedral, and Santo Domingo Monastery.

  3. Day 3

    Pacaya Volcano and Hot Springs

    After breakfast you'll travel about ninety minutes to Pacaya National Park and meet your local guide in San Vicente de Pacaya. The hike to within a mile of the active crater takes one to two hours with great views throughout. After descending, you'll head to Kawilal Hot Springs where you can relax in one of the twelve thermal pools before returning to Antigua for the night.

  4. Day 4

    Lake Atitlán and Santa Cruz La Laguna

    You'll check out and spend roughly two hours driving through the Sierra Madre mountains to reach Panajachel on Lake Atitlán's shore. After settling into your hotel, a boat excursion takes you to Santa Cruz La Laguna, one of twelve villages around the lake where Mayan communities have lived for centuries. You'll explore the village and return by boat to Panajachel where you'll have the evening free to relax and watch the sunset.

    Chichicastenango Market and Return to Guatemala City

    You'll travel to Chichicastenango to see what many consider Central America's most colorful local market, where traditional dresses, produce, flowers, and handicrafts fill the stalls. After browsing at your own pace, you'll visit the Church of Santo Tomás which blends Catholic and pre-Hispanic traditions, then explore the unique local cemetery. Later you'll head back to Guatemala City for an overnight stay.

  6. Day 6

    Guatemala City to Flores

    You'll have breakfast in Antigua, then transfer to Guatemala City airport for a one-hour domestic flight to Flores around 11 AM. Your guide meets you upon arrival and drives you to Flores Island. The afternoon is free to explore the island on your own and rest after traveling.

  7. Day 7

    Tikal National Park

    After breakfast you'll travel about an hour by bus to Tikal National Park, home to Guatemala's most significant Maya ruins with around three thousand excavated structures. Your expert guide will walk you through temples including the Temple of the Masks, Temple of the Great Jaguar, Temple of the Jaguar Priest, and Temple IV, the tallest at the site. You'll have lunch within the park with options like vegetable soup and chicken, beef, pork, or vegetarian choices served with rice or vegetables. Afterward you'll continue exploring before heading back by bus to Flores Airport for your flight to Guatemala City and transfer to your hotel.

For tours departing after February 9th, 2026, a minimum payment of 10% is required to confirm your booking with GUIDEcuador Travel. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 95 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
