- Lionel· March 11th, 2025Abdul was such an amazing tour guide! We travelled as a family of four, and the team catered to us exceptionally well. We were given hotel rooms next to each other and felt very welcomed throughout. A significant portion of the tour involves travelling in the van, but it was well worth it to visit incredible places like Ouarzazate and the Sahara Desert—our absolute favourite parts of the trip. We also enjoyed our nights in Agadir and Essaouira, though we would have appreciated an extra night in each city. However, we were aware of the itinerary beforehand, so this was expected. Be mindful that you’re never in one place for more than a night! The camel rides and ATV excursions were definitely worth it, as was the Hammam spa experience—though these come at an extra cost, except for the camel ride, which was included. A small note: on our first night in the Sahara Desert, there were no showers, and water was very limited in both camps, but the experience itself more than made up for it. Regarding accommodation, I would honestly rate it between 2.5 to 3 stars, but that wasn’t a major issue for us as we only needed a place to shower and sleep. Maybe I’m a little biased, as I travel frequently to Southeast Asia, where 4-star hotels in Malaysia or Singapore would probably be rated 7 stars in Morocco! As for the food, it was fine overall, though meals at the desert camp were quite simple. By Day 5, we did get a bit tired of Tajine—nothing against the operator or Moroccan cuisine; we just had our fill and ended up opting for more Western and Chinese food towards the end. Overall, I would definitely recommend this tour! The Sahara Desert experience is something truly unique, and you won’t find it in many places around the world.Show moreTravel Talk commented on this reviewHi Lionel, thank you for sharing your experience! - SFSabrina· December 22nd, 2024The tour guide was fabulous. I wished that the bus had charging capabilities and wifi so that we could maximize taking photos and uploading them to social media. The itinerary was okay, but the itinerary is very deceiving. Some of the descriptions are not accurate. There is no 4x4 jeep safari. There were not enough ATV’s for everyone on the trip that wanted to participate. We did not ride the camels to the camp. Very disappointing. The desert camps were not what I was expecting. The first was closer to what I thought being in the desert was like but the second was not. I wish that it was made clear that camping in the desert during the winter requires a strong warning that there are extreme cold temperatures in desert at night. There should be heaters in the tents as the blankets don’t keep you warm enough. You need toques, scarfs and mittains. The second camp had nothing to do. I wished we had more time in the towns of Agadir and Essouira. The hotels were not really four star. They were clean but shabby and did not have great breakfasts.Show moreTravel Talk commented on this reviewHi Sabrina, thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. - Travel TalkOperator•Written July 2024
The group will be going to Zagora from Quarzazate in the morning of day 3. Day 3 : Ouarzazate, Zagora, Jeep Safari, M'hamid. It's time to cross into the vast Sahara desert! Drive along the Draa valley until reaching the desert village of Zagora, reflecting the traditional desert life in Morocco. Pass through magnificent dessert villages and take a break at an oasis for a locally prepared lunch. The village is located at the edge of the Sahara desert, where you join a 4x4 jeep safari. Continue on to M'hamid in the Sahara and climb up the sand dunes before heading to your camp. A traditional Moroccan dinner is prepared by the camp staff for you to enjoy under the desert stars.
