Mahabalipuram to Trichy
This morning you have time to explore Mahabalipuram on your own pace, catching anything you might have missed the day before. In the afternoon, get transported to the railway station and board a train heading to Trichy. The route offers nice views along the way. You'll have dinner once you arrive and settle into your Trichy hotel for the night.

Trichy
After breakfast, visit Rockfort Temple and see its three temples: Thayumanavar, Manikka Vinayagar, and Ucchi Pillayar. Later in the evening, browse through the lively markets in Trichy.

Trichy to Tanjore
Drive about 2 hours to Tanjore, a city known for its historical and cultural significance. You'll explore Vijayanagar Fort and see its architecture, palace, Sangeetha Mahal art gallery, library, and Shiva Ganga garden. Then visit the UNESCO World Heritage Brihadeeswarar Temple, a major Chola temple with a 66-meter tower and 13-foot Nandi figurine. Head back to your hotel after.

Madurai

Mysore
You'll arrive at Mysore railway station and transfer to your hotel. After cleaning up, start exploring Mysore with the Mysore Palace, a royal residence with Indo-Saracenic architecture. Walk through Philomena's Cathedral, one of Asia's tallest churches, featuring Neo-Gothic style, 175-foot twin spires, and French stained glass. Return to your hotel to relax.

Mysore to Hassan
Check out and drive to Shravanabelagola to see the 57-foot monolith of Bhagawan Bahubali on Vindhyagiri Hill, the world's tallest monolith from 981 AD. Continue to Belur with its star-shaped temple and intricate hand-carved pillars. Drive on to Halebidu, the 12th-century capital, and see Hoysaleswara temple in Dravidian style. Finish in Hassan, the temple-architecture capital, and check into your hotel.

Hassan to Hospet
After breakfast, check out and drive to Chitradurga to explore Chitradurga Fort, also called Kallina Kote. Built between the 10th and 18th centuries, it has seven enclosure walls plus 18 ancient temples, 19 gateways, and 38 entrances. The fort also contains a palace, mosque, granaries, and water tanks. Later, continue to Hospet, known for exquisite temples and UNESCO ruins from the Vijayanagar empire, and check into your hotel.

Hampi
