Itinerary
- Day 1
Algiers
Your guide meets you at Algiers airport with a welcome board, then transfers you to your hotel for check-in. This gives you time to settle in and get oriented to the city.
- Day 2
Djemila to Constantine
Head out to Djemila to see Algeria's largest and best-preserved Roman ruins, a UNESCO site from over 2,000 years ago. The museum there has artifacts on display, and you'll walk through stone pillars, triumphal arches, baths and temples. Later you'll continue to Constantine, known as the city of bridges, for the night.

Constantine to Algiers
Spend the day in Constantine, which sits surrounded by canyons and has bridges crossing over Rhumel Lake. Check out the Cirta Museum for Roman mosaics, then visit the Palace of Ahmed Bey and several mosques. You'll have free time to wander traditional castles, local markets, and see the city's bridge architecture. After, fly back to Algiers and transfer to your hotel.

Algiers to Timimoun
Catch an early morning flight to Timimoun, your entry point to the Sahara Desert. Your local guide meets you and transfers you to the hotel. Grab lunch at a popular local restaurant, then walk the ancient town to see Sudanese-style buildings, shop for souvenirs, and check out the market.

Timimoun
After resting, walk around Timimoun to visit carmine caves and deserted villages while your guide talks about local history, customs, and the environment. You'll head back around noon to beat the heat, have lunch, then rest at the hotel. The afternoon is yours to explore on your own if you'd like.

Timimoun to Taghit
This is a long driving day, about 500 kilometers heading to Beni Abbes, a white oasis town with sand dunes at its edge. Stop to visit the Ksar and Sahara Museum to see the exhibits, then continue driving to Taghit for overnight.

Taghit
Spend the whole day in Taghit, an oasis town in west Algeria's Sahara that's important for tourism and agriculture. Take a leisurely walk through the ancient Ksar with narrow winding streets and red mud buildings good for photos. See the sand dunes and Grand Erg at the town's edge, and check out petroglyphs that date back 10,000 years to the Neolithic period.

Taghit to Oran
Transfer to Bachar to catch a flight to Oran, Algeria's second largest city on the northwest coast. After landing, your guide and driver take you for a stroll along the corniche overlooking harbors. Then tour the city center hitting City Hall, Place du 1er Novembre, and La Cathedrale du Sacre Coeur.

Oran to Algiers
Visit Fort and Church of Santa Cruz at the city's highest point with great views of the Mediterranean Sea. Tour the Chateau Neuf, a 14th-century fort built by Merinid Sultan Abou Hassan. Stop by Bey's Palace to learn about Oran's heritage. Later fly back to Algiers where your guide meets you at the airport for hotel check-in.

Drive about 1 hour to Tipasa, a UNESCO site 80 kilometers away that's an ancient city built in the 7th century BC. Continue to Algiers with a stop at the Royal Mausoleum from the Numibian period with over 2,000 years of history. In the afternoon, visit the Kashbah fortress from the 2nd century BC, Maqam Echahid independence monument, and Musée national des moudjahid for Algeria war history. Walk through city streets to learn about local history and architecture before returning to your hotel.
