Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Conakry
Your flight arrives in Conakry where your guide meets you at the airport. From there, you'll head to your hotel to settle in for the night. It's a good chance to rest up before starting your tour proper tomorrow.
- Day 2
Conakry to Kindia
Start by checking out Conakry's fishing port and markets in the morning. Next, head to the National Museum to see traditional masks and musical instruments. You'll get an outside view of the Faysal Mosque before driving inland to Kindia. There you'll visit the local market and spend time watching woodcarvers at work.

Kindia to Dalaba
Drive into the Fouta Djalon Mountains, taking a break at Lake Bafing along the way. The landscape shifts as you continue through mountain terrain toward Dalaba. You'll arrive in this small village where the surrounding mountain views really open up.

Dalaba Excursions
From Dalaba, you'll head out to the Peulh village of Ainguel for a look at local life. Later, hike to Pont de Dieu, a natural stone bridge with a waterfall below it. After lunch, drive to Kambadaga waterfall where you can see three separate cascades dropping down the hillside.

Dalaba to Faranah
Leave the mountains and travel south toward where the Niger River actually begins. You'll stop at Lake Bafing again, then cross the Niger River at Faranah, where it's still quite narrow at this point in its course.

Faranah to Kissidougou
Drive to Kissidougou, arriving around midday. After grabbing lunch, visit the local museum which has good information about the region. In the afternoon, head out to nearby villages of the Kissi people to see how they live and work.

Kissidougou to N'zérékoré
Travel to Sérédou in the Forêt Classée de Ziama and hike with a ranger looking for rare forest elephants. Later you'll drive on tarred road to N'zérékoré, passing through forest areas and learning about the animist traditions that are central to Forest Guinea.

N'zérékoré to Bossou
Head to Bossou near the Liberia border to search for chimpanzees in this protected area. An experienced guide takes you out to observe these primates, which are known for their problem-solving abilities and social complexity.

Landmarks Bossou - Day 9
Bossou to Liberian Coast
Cross into Liberia through Gbargna, passing through Firestone rubber plantations along the way. Stop at the Kpatawee waterfall for photos and a short break. Continue on to the coast where you'll spend the night at a lodge.

Liberia to Robertsport
Drive to Monrovia for a sightseeing tour that includes the National Hall, an external look at the Masonic Lodge, and the National Museum. You'll also visit Providence Island where the first settlers arrived. After that, continue on to Robertsport.

Robertsport to Tiwai Island
Cross into Sierra Leone and handle border paperwork. By afternoon you'll reach Kambama, then take a motorboat to Tiwai Island where you'll stay in simple huts overnight.

Tiwai Island
Spend the full day on Tiwai Island Monkey Sanctuary. The island has eleven primate species including Diana monkeys, colobus varieties, and chimpanzees. You'll hike through jungle in the morning and take a boat trip on the Moa River in the afternoon to spot crocodiles and hippos.

Tiwai Island to Tokeh
Take the motorboat back to Kambama and drive toward the coast through Bo, where you'll walk through the large market. Continue to Tokeh on the Freetown Peninsula for an overnight hotel stay.

- Day 14
Tokeh to Freetown Departure
Visit Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary in the morning for a guided tour and animal feeding. That afternoon, explore Freetown's historic spots including the Cotton Tree, King's Yard, King Jimmy Market, the National Museum, and St. John's Maroon Church. Late in the evening you'll head to the airport for your departure flight.
