Akureyri
You'll arrive in Iceland and get transferred to Akureyri, where your expedition ship is waiting. After settling into your cabin and meeting the crew, the ship heads north as the afternoon progresses. There's time to get comfortable with the vessel and its layout before departure.

Iceland - Jan Mayen - Spitsbergen
The ship crosses Arctic waters toward the Arctic Circle, and you'll stop at Grimsey Island to see puffins, kittiwakes, and other seabirds. Later you'll sail toward Jan Mayen volcano with a possible hike to a historic Dutch whaling station from the 1600s. Throughout the journey, keep watch for whales, seals, and polar bears while sailing under midnight sun. The route continues into Spitsbergen's fjords and past dramatic cliffs, where you might spot walruses, reindeer, and nesting birds at Alkhornet.
