- Day 1
Frankfurt to N'Djamena
You'll fly into N'Djamena and get transferred to your hotel for the night. This gives you time to settle in before heading out into the Sahara the next morning.

N'Djamena to Zouarke
After breakfast, you'll drive north from N'Djamena and watch the landscape shift as urban areas give way to the Sahel. You'll pass nomadic camps and sandy tracks along the Nigerian border, and if you're lucky, spot gazelles and fennecs. By evening you'll arrive in Zouarke, covering quite a bit of ground for day one on the road.

Landmarks/POIs Massakory Zouarke - Days 7 - 8
Zouarke to Tibesti Mountains
This morning you'll head toward the Tibesti Mountains following historic caravan routes. You'll reach Wadi Zouarke in the evening to refuel and restock supplies, then continue on rougher tracks to Trou du Natron. This massive caldera sits over 2000m high with volcanic features and white mineral crusts, and you'll see cone volcanoes about 700m below from your vantage point.

- Days 9 - 11
Tibesti Region - Gonoa to Yebbi Bou
Leaving Trou au Natron, you'll drive through wadis and check out ancient rock art along the way. At Enneri Gonoa, you'll find 8000-year-old prehistoric engravings including the life-size 'Man of Gonoa'. After that, you'll pass through the green valley of Ennerie Zumi and visit Bardai before heading through gorges and volcanic terrain to reach Yebbi Bou with its distinctive oval houses and palm grove canyon nearby.

Yebbi Bou
You'll spend the day exploring around Yebbi Bou. In the early morning or at sunset, descend into the wadi valley to take in the oasis-like feel with bird calls and water sounds. Then climb a nearby mountain to get panoramic views across the surrounding area and landscape.

Landmarks/POIs Yebbi Bou - Days 13 - 15
Yebbi Bou to Ounianga Lakes
Heading southeast through the Emi-Koussi region, you'll see the Sahara's highest volcano at 3415m. Along the way you'll come across prehistoric rock paintings and engravings. Later you'll reach the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ounianga Lakes, where sky-blue waters contrast sharply with green palm groves and red-yellow desert. Swimming in the fresh water is an option if you want to cool off.

- Days 16 - 20
Ounianga Lakes to N'Djamena
You'll drive south through some of the desert's most beautiful regions on rough terrain. Navigate the massive dunes of Erg du Djourab in the Borkou region and spot nomadic herds from the Kanembou, Peul, and Kereda peoples. Following the Bahr El Ghazal, you'll make your way back to N'Djamena. There's a day room available at La Residence Hotel N'Djamena before your late evening flight to Germany.
