  1. Day 1

    Fairbanks

    You'll arrive in Fairbanks and head straight to your hotel via complimentary private transfer. After checking in, the evening brings a welcome dinner at a local restaurant where you'll meet your group and try fresh salmon. It's a good way to settle in and get to know everyone before the real adventure starts.

  2. Day 2

    Fairbanks to Denali

    An early start gets you to Fairbanks Rail Depot for one of Alaska's most famous train journeys. You'll board Deluxe Dome rail cars heading south toward Denali, with breakfast served onboard. Lunch comes after you arrive at your hotel in Denali, and the afternoon is yours to explore the area at your own pace, or try zip-lining if you're interested in something more active.

  3. Day 3

    Denali

    Following breakfast, you'll head into Denali National Park on a tundra wilderness tour in a school bus-style vehicle with a local guide. This is your chance to look for grizzly bears, caribou, moose, wolves and other wildlife while learning about the park's ecosystem. The Denali Visitor Center has ranger demonstrations and walks, and you can join your group for dinner or drinks in town later if you feel like it.

  4. Day 4

    Denali to Talkeetna

    After breakfast, you'll travel south on the Parks Highway to Talkeetna, a former mining hub that's now famous as a base for Denali climbers. You'll stop at Kahiltna Birchworks to see how the region makes birch syrup, then head to Denali Brewing Company for beer tasting. An orientation tour of Talkeetna and a visit to the Ranger Station round out the day, giving you insight into the town's climbing heritage.

  5. Day 5

    Talkeetna

    This day is open for you to do what you want in Talkeetna. Consider booking a jet boat ride up one of the braided rivers with a guide who can tell you about local Indigenous history and wildlife, or just relax at the hotel and wander the town. Your Trip Leader can help with optional activities and recommendations depending on your interests.

  6. Day 6

    Talkeetna to Seward

    Early breakfast fuels your drive south to the resort town of Girdwood. You'll have lunch there, then board a whistle stop train into Alaska's backcountry toward Spencer Glacier. A short guided hike takes you around Spencer Lake to a lookout where you can see the glacier up close and learn about calving ice. After boarding the train again to Portage, a private van brings you to the coastal town of Seward.

  7. Day 7

    Seward

    You'll head to the boat harbor after breakfast and set out on a six-hour glacier and wildlife cruise around Resurrection Bay with a local guide. Keep watch for whales, seals, otters, eagles and other animals. Lunch is served onboard, and a real highlight is getting near a calving glacier. Back in Seward, you can take a short walk around town or return to your hotel to relax.

    Seward to Anchorage

    Heading north toward Anchorage after breakfast, you'll make stops worth your time along the way. The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center shows you rehabilitation efforts for local animals. Later, you'll ride the Alyeska Tram to the top of Mount Alyeska where weather might allow views of the Pacific and glaciers. After lunch, you'll continue to Anchorage and check into your hotel for the evening.

You'll visit the Alaska Native History Center to learn how native populations survived in this harsh climate, then head to Lake Hood and the Alaska Aviation Museum where you can talk with a bush pilot about flying in remote areas. Your final night ends with a farewell dinner at a local restaurant with your group.
